Does anyone know how to make one? I'm thinking maybe legos or just stealing one from the show. Any better ideas?

Maybe just use creative transitions. Personally, I would find this way superior as opposed to replicating every aspect of the show entirely or using stock footage.

I seem to be in a lot of old threads tonight because I am OCD and can't stand to see questions go unanswered. I know you're having fun riffing without a door sequence! But I love a good art project.
If you want to build doors the way they did it on MST3K, the thing to learn is how to build a door into a dollhouse or how to build a rube goldberg device. The door sequence on MST3K was a cardboard or wood tunnel with panels dividing it into sections and doors in the dividers large enough to zoom a camera through, so doors are lined up and operable by as many varied mechanisms or appearances as you can think of up to eight in number. And there has to be more than one person controlling the doors separate from the person zooming the camera. One person is the camera zooming through openings, and two others are on either side of the door tunnel opening the doors via opening mechanisms like levers or draw strings. Or, once in the first trial sequence I think a hand was actually visible opening one door.
That's actually the hard way. The easy way is to learn Adobe Flash or After Effects and animate six drawings or photos of doors opening to reveal a green background that gets bigger to take up the whole shot so there are eightt short clips of zoom up to the door, open it, and zoom till the screen is filled with green. Then you would edit the clips on two separate video tracks so the next door replaces the green from the previous door. A chroma keying tutorial for Premiere, Final Cut, Avid, or Vegas can help with this.
Thank you! This gives me an idea for a project.
