Did you know he had a MST connection?
Remember the old (OLD) woman who taught Colleen Gray the secrets of long life in The Leech Woman? Sherman's mom.
True story....I think.

He was a funny, funny guy. I remember back in college I hadn't watched the Jeffersons in years, then late one night caught a couple of episodes and decided to check them out. I laughed out loud multiple times, and 90 percent of that was Sherman Hemsley.
Rest well, sir.

I used to watch the Jeffersons all the time. In fact just last week I was going through my superhero DVDs and watched an episode of Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman where he and Wheezy were the villains (I kid you not) and I said "HEY!"
He will be missed.

Some of those scenes on All In The Family when Jefferson and Bunker squared off were absolute classics. AITF was never quite as funny after the Jeffersons moved away.
Thanks for laughs, Sherm.
