Suicide at 68.That was quite shocking to hear. I enjoy a few of his films. Hated a few others. Still...wow. Alway surprising when a man with that success takes his own life.

I am genuinely shocked and saddened by this. I grew up watching his films, True Romance and The Last Boy Scout being personal favorites. I can't believe he's gone, and my thoughts are with his family. This is a dark day indeed.

Some reports indicate he had inoperable brain cancer. A very sad event no matter how you look at it. I think his skills as a director were quite underrated. I loved True Romance, and say what you will about Top Gun, but it proved he could find mainstream success as well.
Rest well, sir.

I can't believe he's gone, and my thoughts are with his family. This is a dark day indeed. I've never seen Top Gun all the way through. Never interested me, and what I did see didn't look very good. But I will say he did have some decent thriller skills, because I'm a fan of Enemy of the State. It's sad. He seemed like he was still at the peak of his career. Tom Cruise was eager to reunite with him for Top Gun 2, and I think he was attached to the feature film version of 24, if I recall. I still hear his name on websites for some project or another, and when I first read "Tony Scott" in this one, I wondered "What's he doing now?" and it continued to "commits suicide" and my reaction was "holy sh*t!" Not a lot of celebrity deaths do that to me.

I guess he wasn't able to cross that bridge when he got to it. I can't imagine life being that bad that you actually JUMP off a bridge. He must have really been tortured.
