Another season is starting... and I have no clue about anything. I didn't watch the draft, I didn't keep up with much free agency... haven't even visited my old tailgating pals on the Football forums. I'm in the dark as to what to expect this season. So I'll just say to my Holy trinity Go Packers! Go Seahawks! Go Titans! and get well soon Skittles!

Go, Pack, Go!!!! Packers should have an improved defense this year. Not worried about the offense at all.

Has anyone ever notice that a running back holding a ball is like a man protecting a baby? I think there's some pretty deep unconscious psychological stuff going on with football. DeLillo only scratched the surface.

I don't have cable so i got NFL rewind so i can watch the games the day after they were played, which will create an interesting dilemma as i try not to find out who won until i get a chance to watch the canned game.

Gol dern what a load of suck!
As for the Hawks, where the hell is Matt Flynn? We look like a amatuer team out there.
Since it was painful to watch my teams, I swicthed channels frequently. RGIII looked good -- and the Saints looked very, very bad. How many drops did their WRs have?

as a skins fan, i'm concerned, as i am every year, at the euphoria over RGIII. as i was last year when Rex Grossman was going to save the team, or when Jim Zorn was going to save the team, or when Joe Gibbs was going to come out of retirement and save the team. this is at least the third recent season i can recall when the skins started off really strong and the fans get all euphoric... only to watch the team go on bye week and then come back and start losing easy games. and then comes the heartbreak, and the punishment the fans get for even hoping.
RGIII does appear to be the best QB the skins have had in a while, but he's still a rookie, and the skins' O-line is notoriously fragile. when we start having injuries up front and handing ole' Griff over to the blitz, he's gonna have to grow up pretty quick.
that said, i had a great weekend (except i didn't get to actually watch any of the games). skins win, texans win (and i think a breakout season for the texans is more likely than a skins breakout, frankly), and the steelers lost, which, i have a couple friends who are steelers fans who i love to mock and berate.
also, though i always hate to see a dallas win, the fact of the matter is the Gints are a stronger team so if the skins have to fight a rival for the division, i'd rather it be the cowpokes. so that was good for me from a practical point of view, even if viscerally it made me feel sad.

This is supposed to be a big year for the Eagles. I switched to Direct TV so that I could have the NFL package to watch all their games. So they barely scab by the Cleveland Browns who are starting a rookie quarterback.
A win is a win but that wasn't what I had in mind.

Directv had a free viewing day on the NFL package, so I spent the day roving through all the games on the mix channel.
T? P? MJ?, sorry about that 0-3 day. Seattle and Tennessee played pretty well, but the Packers may be questionable with that defense of theirs.
As a Redskins fan, I'm with thenewmads. RG III looked good, but since it's the Daniel Snyder Redskins, my first thought was at least the worst we can be is 1-15. That's hope for 'ya.
And what can be said about the Eagles. They were lucky that the Browns had a Pop Warner quarterback as a starter. That was a butt ugly game.

Go Bears? Honestly, I was watching the White Sox lose to KC.

Go Bears? Honestly, I was watching the White Sox lose to KC. Wrong choice then, huh? Yep, one of the hard things with the first NFL weekends are finding out what the baseball scores are. I kept wondering how the Orioles were doing against the Yankees. I wasn't pleased....

I don't give a lick about de base-a-ball, so no problems with that.
BTW, Manning doesn't look rusty at all. Once the Broncos decided to let him off the leash, he was back in form.

John Fox is known for playing it close to the vest. He better expand his mindset since he has Peyton or Fox won't be around too long.
