From the unforgettable Guy From Harlem theme song... The guy from Harlem! That cat’s a baaaad dude! Ugh! Watch the moves! The guy from Harlem! Ugh! He’s mean, he’s clean, he’s a fighting machine!”Borrowed this from a review I found... Affectionately (I guess) referred to as “The ‘Plan 9′ of blaxploitation” by fans of the genre, Rene Martinez Jr.’s 1977 offering “The Guy From Harlem” is actually, on a purely technical level, even worse than Ed Wood’s unintentional masterpiece — or any of Wood’s films, for that matterOne of my favorite blaxploitation films ever! Fight scenes have to be seen to be believed.

I honestly find calling "Plan 9" as being the "Worst Movie Ever Made" or the one bad movies are often compared to a bit unfair. Plan 9 is farrrrrr from perfect but it's not entirely terrible. It's got a scant ounce or two of "work" put into to TRY and to emulate the film art form.
Certainly between MST3K and RT we've seen other far, far, worse efforts at making a movie. Probably most notably movies like "Manos" and "Birdemic." Where there's many more levels of failure and incompetence.
Plan 9 is just a bad story, poorly acted, poorly directed, poorly edited, etc. But at least those things were ATTEMPTED.
Manos has none of that.
Anyway, after watching "Guy From Harlem" I find it much more fair to compare it to being the "Manos" of Blaxploitation.

I agree much worse have been made. Plan 9 is an easy comparison.
This movie is humorously incompetent where something like Curse of Bigfoot is painfully incompetent.

I downloaded it on Friday , man what a great rifftrax. The movie was perfect for riffing and the guys made it great. I hope they try more of these type they were a lot of terrible blaxploitation movie and so called grind house movie that are just as bad as this. Take Angels' Wild Women, Blazing Stewardesses, Scream Blacula Scream and Dynamite Brothers they would make for some pretty good riffing.

No one's ever seen him. He's about 6'2", white, curly hair, with big muscles. And he always has bands around his muscles. But that's all I can tell you about him, 'cause no one's ever seen him!

This movie made East Meets Watts look like The Color Purple. And it was frickin' hilarious.

i loved the plastic desk his secretary had that looked like fisher price's "my first desk!" toy. and sky pointed out to me the scene where guy from harlem playfully pushes the woman on the bed and it sounds like either the bed or her back almost breaks. the movie is hilarious enough without commentary, but i can't wait to see what the guys do with it - the sample was awesome.

I loved that riff where they were about to do it and TGFH took it into a U Turn and they said "What are you doing?! Haven't you ever seen one of these?!"
