I remember him best in the hilarious Mash episode Springtime.

I got to meet him, but not under good circumstances.
I was bussing tables one night at Chinese Take-Out Hell in North Hollywood, when Karras and his wife came in to order something to go. It turns out that the delivery man took their "special lo mein" by mistake, and they waited 20-30 minutes for their food. I didn't recognize him at first, but a regular customer told me who he was, and I was thinking, "Oh crap, we lost Mongo's food!" He finally got his order, and understandably, never came back.
Farewell, Mr. Karras. Sorry about your noodles, but at least I can say it wasn't my fault.
