how long is it taking you all to download your VODs? It takes me 8-10 hours. The reason I ask is someone over at satellite news said it only takes them an hour.
Am I doing something wrong?

How fast is your internet? I get 20mbs down so a typical VOD (4.5GBs) only takes about 30-40 minutes. when I had DSL it would take 3-4 hours.

Takes me about as long as mrtorso. I'd think basic cable internet could handle it in an hour to hour and a half.

I just downloaded both of the David Caradine monstrosities and each of those took about 30-40 minutes. And skyroniter was right....they are hilarious!!!!

Which program do you guys use to convert your downloads to DVD format. I currently use "Freemake Video Converter" which is very basic, no frills, but makes good quality dvds.

It takes me around 7 or 8 hours to download it. I do it at night so I can watch it the next day.

Keep in mind, we send all of our large content through EdgeCast, a major Content Delivery Network (CDN) that's performance-tuned for huge files, and it can send them as fast as you can receive them (based on network conditions between you and the CDN server).
Of course there are a lot of variables with Internet connections, and one bad backbone zone can cause havoc on your downloads; so, if you find yourself having less-than-awesome download speeds when it should be the other way around, send us an email and we'll contact EdgeCast to figure out what's going on. Usually this type of issue rectifies itself, since it's a network congestion problem and those usually go away after a bit (or the company in charge of that piece of backbone fixes something). Also, a lot of problems end up being with your local ISP, so it is often helpful to try and run a traceroute between your network and edge-large.rifftrax.com, which serves our product files, to see if you can glean any sort of hint as to the culprit.

Thank you for explaining that, Torgospizza.
Let me see if I got it... the back bone connected to the neck bone, and the neck bone connected to the head bone, the finger bone connected to the hand bone, and the hand bone connected to the arm bone, and the arm bone connected to the shoulder bone... I don't think I got it.

Almost done downloading the Silent Rage iso. It has only taken about three hours. Granted my download speed only tests to 30MB but I fear the backbone suffers from scoliosis.
