A very nice eulogy from her long time friend & co-star on I Dream of Jeannie, Barbara Eden.

He was wonderful on "Dallas," playing the villain as the hero, and at times bringing a tremendous vulnerability to that part. Hagman was also excellent in "Fail Safe" with Henry Fonda. (A lot of that film is essentially a conversation between Fonda as the President and Hagman's Russian Interpreter.) He will be missed

I didn't like Dallas, and I had a great time giving my college roommate grief about getting hooked on it after he gave me crap about being a Star Trek fan for many years. But my roommate introduced me to the phrase "the character you love to hate," in reference to J.R., and there's no question he brought one of the greatest TV characters of all time to life.
Rest well, sir.

i grew up watching him in i dream of jeannie and j.r. in dallas. my family got totally hooked on dallas and we speculated all summer on who shot j.r. in that first great television cliff hanger. i think i even had a tshirt, much to my embarrassment. it was hard for me to watch him go from tony nelson to j.r., though - i kept thinking - he would never pull this crap on jeannie.
