So...apparently, Joss Whedan was a big d-bag.

This is more "random movie crap" or "random movie on YouTube crap", but anyway --
There is a Rocky Jones movie on YouTube. The uploader goes by "Pizzaflix".

I heard they are going to revive Night Court with John Larroquette reprising his Dan Fielding character. I liked Night Court back in the day, but I don't know what they could do now with it.

The bigger issue is what they could do with Dan. While he was ALWAYS the butt of the joke, he was over the line even by the standards of the '80s. There's no way his schtick would fly now.

The Venture Brothers will be streaming on HBO Max starting Aug. 13th. I think the movie to wrap up the series will still air on Adult Swim first. There's still a petition on change.org to let them do a full season.

There will be a Willow series coming to Disney+. Don't know when. Sometime next year. Warwick Davis will be reprising his role.

They are making a continuation of Quantum Leap. I believe Scott Bakula will be in it. It's scientists studying Sam's invention, and I guess still looking for him or trying to bring him home.
I think it will be on NBC (possibly Peacock).

Apple TV has a reboot of Fraggle Rock. I watched this back in the day and I wasn't even still a kid. (Edit: Well, I was still a teen, but older than the target audience). I had a week of free Apple TV so I binged the new season. Kinda cute. Not all the same actors for the voices but they did good. Stories aren't really anything much, though. Nothing like wasting a few hours on nostalgia. Edit: Didn't like the new Mokey and they dumbed down Gobo a bit. Didn't like Marjorie's voice (The Trash Heap).

Currently watching "Barry" on HBO. I like it, it's funny. (And of course, it has it's serious spots).
I like Barry, but it's hard to root for him as he kills so many damn people.
A lot of shows these days seem to have questionable characters that you can't really get behind. No one to cheer for really, most characters on newer shows are d-bags, or at least REALLY messed up.

On Amazon Prime they are going to do new episodes of Kids in the Hall. (Forget when it starts). Wonder if they still got it?

Had a free weekend of some channels I don't normally get on Xfinity's "Watchathon". Had some Amazon Prime shows. Not the whole library of shows and movies they have, just a few original series. I started binging "The Boys" about some not-so-honorable super heroes. (Karl Urban is one of the stars). Wish I had started sooner. I only got to episode 5 of the first season before the free weekend ended. Darn. I was starting to get into it and enjoy it. I'll have to wait until the next free weekend.

I don't have Paramount +, but the first episode of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds is up on YouTube. Yuck. Wouldn't pay for that streaming service for this show if the first ep is any indication of what it's going to be.
Seemed like a 10-year-old wrote it.
Everything happened fast with no problems, really; too simplistic.
They just have first contact with a planet and they all speak English, I guess. And I guess EVERYONE on the WHOLE PLANET sees these aliens in this one spot (on their viewing monitors, I guess) and everyone speaks the same language and has the same culture everywhere and listens to these aliens (Star Fleet, well, the Enterprise crew) and they just agree with them and all their planetary problems and quarrels are solved. Cue feel good moments and uplifting music.
God, I miss Farscape. (They had their simplistic moments, too, of course; I guess it's hard to write a story about entire planets - that's why most of the stories took place on the ship and just had certain areas of planets and didn't involve everywhere at once, if you know what I'm getting at).

I guess you've never watched Star Trek before. They have a thing called the Universal Translator which is totally foolish but it allows people to talk in any language. It's in every episode of all the Star Trek series. There's all sorts of nonsense science in science fiction. That's why its called fiction. Faster than light travel, time travel, transporters, holo decks are all just as impossible as a universal translator. IMO, SNW is the best version of Star Trek since the original series so far. I loved it. The original Star Trek was more of a morality tale than science fiction. And if a starship appeared over your cities and someone beamed down on live TV and showed you what happened to their planet when they did exactly what you are about to do it almost sterilized the planet, it might have an effect. The problems weren't solved right away. They just started talking. Really talking, not just yelling at each other like people entrenched in a long time argument tend to do.

^^^^ I found it boring. But all Star Trek iterations are boring to me now. Farscape ruined me for all the others.
