Woo! A second shot at Manos! Looks like I'll be able to stop saying that this is the only one I've missed. I'll definitely get my tickets early for it and not go to Indianapolis this time.

Definitely going to this. I was sick for the first showing and didn't attend that one.

I can't believe it, but I actually convinced Mrs. Atari to join me for this tonight.
It's quite a coup.
I've been preparing her for the night by telling her it's like we're going to a comedy club, not a movie. She's not buying it. She's seen Manos before.

There's no way my wife would go. (She lived in El Paso for awhile, so she'd be too offended, I'm sure.) I took my son last time, though, and he loved it. You're a lucky man.

Very lucky man - I can't go again (working) but I remember seeing the MST3K Manos at the Belcourt in Nashville for a charity event. $15 and you got 2 MST eps, mexican food and beer/wine/pop. I had the best time and laughed so hard it hurt. I couldn't get my wife to go, she just would not be convinced. Afterwards, seeing how high (and full of great food) I was, she says, "Awww... I should have gone" Damn straight, woman!

I'm the wife and have to drag my husband! He went last time but just couldn't be convinced this time around--"I already saw it", wah wah wah. So I took a friend and he enjoyed himself hugely.
Wheeeeeeeennnnnn will this and Birdemic come out on DVD?? I must relive these over and over again.

Wheeeeeeeennnnnn will this and Birdemic come out on DVD?? I must relive these over and over again. Birdemic live in out on VOD www.rifftrax.com/vod/rifftrax-live-birdemic#sampleI don't know if they will eventually release this on DVD as well. But speaking for myself, I just need to learn how to burn these VODs on disc for myself. (I'm just being lazy, I know I could figure it out, download whatever I need to do it, if I took the time)

I'm nowhere close to figuring out how to burn a disc (I'm old and dumb) so you're ahead of me, at least.

Isn't VOD designed to make that impossible? If you can view it on Windows Media Player, then you can just use windows DVD maker to make a disk, and chances are you already have that on your computer. If it's VOD and you have to use a custom player, like Amazon, for instance, then they've probably done that deliberately to keep you from being able to copy it.
I could be wrong, but that's my impression...

Next time I'll follow the link, THEN post, LOL. Pretty sure if you download the DivX version, you can burn that with Windows DVD Maker. Which is an incredibly simple program to use.

the words "incredibly" and simple" probably best describes me. Spent hours on this, it seems I burned something on the disc.... but nothing shows up, picture wise. So that's one disc wasted. Shall I make another attempt?
Edit: several hours, a few messes, several trips to Rifftrax.com, a recommended download of Img Burn and -- Voilà! Success! (I think) I’ve burned my first VOD to disc. Now I just need to watch it and make sure there are no skips or whatnot (I burned at Max speed, which I read can cause some hiccups with some folks burns)
Now, if I could just figure out how to make a menu (I don’t see anything to indicate how to do that at img burn??) because the trax just starts right up the minute you put it in the player.

If it makes you feel any better MJ, I've never been able to get a menu out of it either. Something tells me they don't come with any menus in the VOD, but I haven't really dug too deep to find out. I use ImgBurn like you.

Yup, I looked around and gave it some minimal thought, but decided to not spend time with menu making. I was a burning fool today, and interestingly the Santa's Workshop release came with a menu and chapters. So that was nice of Rifftrax to include it on that one.
