I have a copy of Blood Sucking Freaks on DVD. There is some darn gross stuff in there. The acting is really bad.

Yeah, Blood Sucking Freaks is really bad. Here's another badly acted movie with a pretty good premise, actually....WARNING: TRAILER CONTAINS BLOOD.

The Gore-Gore Girls is better. Early H.G. Lewis lacks the deft subtlety of his later works.

This had a pretty good premise, but the acting was REALLY bad.... Hey, I love Children Shouldn't Play With Dead Things, I'll have you know. It's one of my all-time favorite guilty pleasures. Horrible acting? Sure. But it's got a decent premise, buckets of atmosphere, a creepy soundtrack, some of the black humor actually does work (admittedly, not all of it) and parts of the movie (especially the last twenty minutes) are as terrifying as hell. C'mon, guys... a zombie movie from the director of A Christmas Story and the screenwriter of My Bodyguard? What's not to love?
