Buying my tickets today! Bummer about Twilight, but I honestly think it'll be even funnier a year or so from now. I was cracking up enough just at the White Trash Twilight sketch they did during Manos (which should be coming out on DVD this summer!)

Got mine for the Union Square show in NYC. Taking my son, should be great. I actually sort of like that movie (I root for the arachnids) but it will be funny to see them deride it.

The stupid theater here is Escondido never carries these shows. Fortunately, I will be attending the San Marcos show! Can't wait to see it.

My son is in town. We warmed up for our trip to Nashville by watching the live "Plan 9..." He had never seen it before and really enjoyed it. Hilarious stuff, minus the boring singer.
The theater looks small enough that all the seats should be good. I plan to get there early enough to get fairly close as its general admission. Am really looking forward to it. Still hoping for some sort of meet and greet.

Just got my tickets, looking forward to it. So glad and surprised they included some theaters here in Canada.

I really wish they would have some shows in Lafayette, LA. They have them in Louisiana but I have to drive at least two hours to get there, and more than likely I'd have to be up at 4am the next morning for work. I guess I'll miss this one too until it comes out on VOD.

Hate to break it to you, but they recently announced on the Kickstarter page that they won't be able to get the rights to release the live show as a VOD. They said they'll make an MP3 commentary version soon afterwords, but if you want to see the live riff this might be your only chance. Fortunately, there's plenty of theaters having the show near me and I was able to get tickets early, really looking forward to Thursday!

I'm wondering, since they made so much more than what they were asking for, how exactly they weren't able to afford VOD rights to the movie. Was it really THAT expensive? Or was the cash already spent on other aspects of the production?
Right now Sony's licensing them out the old Batman and Robin serial as VOD, so obviously they're making some VOD deals with them, even if it's just this release.
I do kind of wonder if Rifftrax can't license the show to be released beyond this one theatrical showing, is it possible for them to work out a deal with Sony to print DVDs and release it under their company?

I'm at a lake house in upstate NY with a bunch of old friends, and the six of us have tickets for the show in Syracuse. We watched Starship Troopers together a number of years ago, and are debating all sorts of things, like the politics of the original Heinlein book, which some of us have read, how the movie did on the tongue-in-cheeko-mometer (we think it failed, mostly), and how cute the big alien bugs are. I'm looking forward to letting all that go and letting the Rifftrax goodness wash over me. I don't suppose anyone else here is going to see it in Syracuse, NY?

Heading to Boulder tomorrow for the festivities.
Full disclosure- I've never seen Starship Troopers. Should I give it a dry run tonight, or should I absorb the entire experience at once like a new MST episode?

I haven't seen Starship Troopers before either, but I think that'll just make the show a bit more fun for me. I like to be surprised.

Bummer about VOD release, but it is what it is.
I would take a dry run through the movie first if I were you. I find with the modern movies, they tend to have to talk over dialogue and I end up missing something or I'm struggling to figure out what's going on.

I'm sort of torn on the watch-it-first issue. On the one hand, if you've seen it first you can perhaps enjoy the riffing experience more. But I like surprises in big packages, so going in cold means the other hand ( ) can slap you silly while you're watching.
