So...this slice of epic win is happening... www.mst3kinfo.com/?p=15558I was kind of hoping this would happen when Shout started dealing with Universal, and now it's finally coming. Confirmed extras sound awesome. Can't wait.

Holy crap yes! I was wishing they would do this for MST3K's 25th anniversary. I really hope they'll include the deleted scenes, too.

This is great news! I thought this might happen when they made a deal with Universal but to see it's coming is wonderful. The extras sound really good, I also hope they are able to include the deleted scenes. Shout! continues to bring the awesome when it comes to MST3K

While the confirmed extras sound great... this release, for me anyway, will be a HUGE let-down if Shout can't get the deleted scenes and alternate ending!

Dream come true! Awesome to see the movie given the Shout treatment, can't wait to see the alternate cover.
Really hoping we get the deleted scenes spliced in. My idea:
Theatrical Version Extended Version with Theatrical Ending Extended Version with Alternate Ending

Hopefully the deleted scenes are in usable shape. It might be asking for too much, but seeing the large amount of cut theater work would be epic.

Hey Torgo, didn't they originally riff This Island Earth in it's entirety until the studio decided to cut it down. I have never understood why since MST fans had been watching 2 hour episodes from the beginning. Even without the commercials the shows were still about an hour 35 or 40. It would be amazing to actually hear all the theater riffing.

Yep. Test audiences thought the movie was too long. I'm hoping Shout can unearth a good deal of that lost material.

They made mention of a flipside with artwork similar to what they've done for the individual discs. Can't wait to see that one.

In fact that would be a deal breaker for me. I waited to long for something like this, and without the deleated scenes it would still feel like an incomplete release.

On my wish list:
A separate soundtrack with alternate riffs... Bootsy Collins instead of Leona Helmsley for example. Also the missing riffs from the press conference near the beginning of This Island Earth.
It would also be nice if Mike and whoever's available could provide a riff track, if you will, for the "This Island Earth: 2 1/2 Years in the Making" trailer.

Yeah, it SHOULD be a no-brainer, and I'm sure SF will do their best to get ahold of them. At the very least give us the 'storm shelter' scene (one of the finest MST moments IMO) & the VASTLY BETTER IN EVERY WAY original ending. The cut movie segments would be wonderful, but I can understand if they end up being more difficult to get/put together. Hopefully Universal didn't toss everything... I enjoyed MST:TM a lot more when I was younger, now after seeing the cut scenes (and noticing how watered-down a lot of the riffing is), I have a much harder time enjoying it. A few new documentaries isn't enough to get me to wanna re-buy it another time.
