Yesterday I made a post on Shout Factory's Facebook wall asking to please include the deleted scenes (like how everyone has already been asking them), and just a moment ago I was notified that Shout Factory themselves liked my post. I think that may be a good sign.

Let's see... I have The Movie in german. I have a VHS copy and a VHS screener. The UK blu-ray. A laser disc. Sealed original release DVD. Various fan mutations. I am so in!

Ballyhoo just posted this on Facebook:
I asked if the deleted scenes also includes the bomb shelter bit. Unless... if the deleted scenes DON'T include the bomb shelter bit then perhaps it hasn't been deleted but rather has been put back into the film. Hmmm....
Oh yeah! Also, it looks like the deleted riffs were found! Hope a fan edit appears with all the scenes back in place.

Far and away the best release of The Movie yet! As long as the print is pristine. That is not the case for the British release.

Ballyhoo confirmed that the Bomb Shelter deleted scene is among the deleted/extended scenes!
So we're getting the bomb shelter, the alternate ending, and an undisclosed amount of deleted riffs! Honestly, they should have an option to watch with deleted and extended scenes included. The movie will only benefit from such addtions, as they weren't cut due to quality but rather due to stupid studio decisions. The bomb shelter scene has some of the best host segment moments.

And about a director's cut, I also forgot to mention: When I asked about the deleted scenes on Shout Factory's Facebook page, someone else posted on their wall not long after me asking if they could include an extended cut of the Movie in their release, and I noticed that Shout Factory liked that post as well. This is also a good sign.

A director's cut would be fantastic, but even if they're just extras it'll still be great.

Great news. Yeah that Bomb shelter scene was a classic, it will be nice to see and hear it clearly (without the fan laughter) - this is definitely a win. Thank you SHOUT, my check is in the mail!

I wonder if this release is taking Shout's fall/holiday slot for MST releases... hopefully not, but exciting nonetheless.

How about a limited theater run or a simulcast ala Rifftrax of a director's cut? It might work. I've enjoyed TM multiple times in theaters. Good fun!

Funny you should mention that, because I also made another post sometime recently on Shout Factory's Facebook wall suggesting this same idea. And they hit 'Like' on that post too! Maybe they're looking into it? I sure hope so.
