What the heck is "Last Flight of Joel Robinson?" I'm guessing it's a Mitchell-relating doc.

Also sounds like this will be a standard five disc set with Mitchell/Head That Wouldn't Die packaged with all of them. I approve of this, though I hope neither Mitchell nor Head will suffer in terms of quality to fit them both on the disc.

I thought about that too. It's probably just a cost saving move. Each of those episodes is like what, 91 or 97 minutes long? A dual-layer disc can easily fit both episodes.

As long as the image and sound is not compromised, good. But assuming this is going to be standard packaging, making this a five disc set, is there room for extras et al.?

I hear you. Since a dual-layer disc can hold up to 4 hours of information with no image degradation, I wouldn't worry about it.
It defintely doesn't sound like there will be any extras on that 5th 'bonus' disc. I can't help but wonder aloud again (and wildly speculate) if this will be the model going forward on future sets. To include two OOP episodes. I guess only time will tell, really.

Nobody on this forum has mentioned that The Day the Earth Froze will also have the MST3K Hour Wraps. Very nice addition and thanks, Shout!

Then again, depending on length, I suppose it will be fine. Be interesting to see the cover art for a double feature.

You're likely right about the bonus material being on that MITCHELL/BRAIN disc. Both episodes are 91 minutes and you figure that the bonus material will be maybe 5-10 minutes. It would definitely fit on a DVD-9 (dual layer disc). Most movies released on standard DVD are dual layer and have been for a long, long time. It actually makes sense from a cost perspective for Shout to put two episodes on one disc, especially for OOP Rhino stuff. It serves two purposes: 1) Get the titles back in print and allow new buyers to purchase 2) Acts as a nice bonus to the average buyer without increasing the MSRP a ton. According to tvshowsondvd, the List Price will be $64.99 on this set. By comparison, the List Price on the 20th Anniversary Box (XIII) was $69.99. Often the List Price from Shout, on the MST3K sets, is $59.99. So this is right in the ball park. And we get get MITCHELL/BRAIN as a bonus. It's also very likely that the average price for this set will be around $45-$49 bucks or so. That seems to the the pre-release price on like Amazon, Shout, DVD Planet, et al. Can't wait!

Hm. It'll probably be one disc. Too bad there won't be a mini-poster for those eps.

Note that the bonus features release reads "4 Exclusive Mini-Posters By Artist Steve Vance."

Note that the bonus features release reads "4 Exclusive Mini-Posters By Artist Steve Vance." Ah, yes, I did miss that one. Oh well, I love the poster artwork that Shout does and was hoping to get it for Mitchell/Head. Eh, I'll live.

I am bummed that the Mitchell and Brain dvd will not have a poster. The only single dvd to have that so far was Manos. However, that poster was thinner than the usual posters on the dvd volumes. Maybe Shout has a trick up their sleeve.
