I am bummed that the Mitchell and Brain dvd will not have a poster. The only single dvd to have that so far was Manos. However, that poster was thinner than the usual posters on the dvd volumes. Maybe Shout has a trick up their sleeve. Maybe. Just because no poster art does not mean cover art in poster style. But, in all seriousness, it will probably be just the original poster art around the titles, similar to Shout Selects and other exclusives.

I was thinking something similar to what you mentioned. Something like these, but combining both MITCHELL and BRAIN posters. We'll find out soon enough.

Personally, I wish the Shout Selects were repackaged into volume sets, but at this point, unlikely since everyone who wants them probably has them. Ah well.

Personally, I am hoping for a dvd cover like the Manos reissue. Yet, I have a feeling we will get something like this: At least that contains 3 posters. I have a good feeling that this is the kind of packaging they will ship for Brain/Mitchell.

You got it. That's exactly what I'm visualizing. Something like Bonus DVD that came with XXVII (if ordered from Shout!).
I actually am a fan of the streamlined artwork that Shout! does for Mystery Science. I love the Steve Vance artwork as much as the next guy but I also like the uniform appeal of the box artwork and the Select titles. On iTunes, the artwork for all former Rhino episodes has the same styling queues. What can I say, I like it.

Off topic, I wonder why more of the former Rhino releases have not been put out as Shout Selects, unless Shout has a plan B. Come to think of it, when was the last Shout Select MST3K?

It's been over a year since the last one. From what I've heard is that they're concentrating on never before released episodes for the time being.

Yeah, I know about iTunes, but I kind of like popping a DVD in. Plus, without Apple TV, you cannot watch an iTunes on your TV. Like you said, maybe Shout will include bonus DVDs more frequently. One can only hope.

I just visited Shout Factory's website and noticed there's an additional extra feature listed for the 25th Anniversary set. There's an interview with Brain That Wouldn't Die actress Marilyn Hanold on the set. www.shoutfactory.com/?q=node/218471
