Yeah, they tend to put their beers out early...last year I made that mistake by not buying enough of the Winter Lager...yeah that hoppy spring beer was too hoppy for me too. The Sam Adams Brewery puts out somthing like 50 or 60 different beers a year...if you are in Boston, go on the brewery tour. Those are awesome...plus, free samples!!!

Has anyone tried the Guinness Blonde Lager? Was wondering if it was worth it to buy. I like Guinness but it's so heavy that it's very filling for me. This new beer of theirs sounds interesting; maybe I will buy some next paycheck...

i never heard of guinness blonde lager. sounds interesting, though. i have nothing but respect for guiness, but i never drink it. or should i say cut it with a knife and fork and eat it, because it is so heavy. when i was a server and a customer ordered a guiness, i would tell the bartender and then go back to get it 10 minutes later and still probably have to wait a little longer for it to be ready to take to the table.
a fellow server was irish - i used to follow him around everywhere just to listen to his voice - and he said his dad worked in a guinness factory, and all workers got a free pint every day.

Metropolitan Brewing Co's Flywheel Lager. Metropolitan is based here in Chicago, and this beer is excellent. 5% alcohol by volume and full flavor. On the label it says "The kinetic beauty of spicy hops grabs you by the nose and proclaims a German-inspired beer. Best for bombastic celebrations of singing voices and clanging mugs. Prosit this!!" This beer is a keeper.

I'm going town on beer tonight. Hofbrau Haus Oktoberfest beer.....Imported from Germany. 6.3% alcohol by volume. Full body taste. This beer is another keeper, but then all of the Haufbrau Haus brews are excellent.

Metropolitan Brewery's Krank Shaft Kolsch style beer. "Brewed in homage to the beer of Cologne. Krankshaft has the gentle sweetness of a stranger's smile. A dash of wheat malt eases a Santiam hop bite". From the label. This beer has a really good flavor. It's 5% alcohol by volume, so not too strong. Metropolitan is local to Chicago and they have many different kinds of beer. I've been impressed with them so far.

5 Rabbit has a beer called "Gringolandia Super Pils". Bought a bottle from a craft your own six pack deal at Jewel. It' 7.2 alcohol by volume and has a very good taste. From the label: "Gringolandia is our multi-culti home, where we live, play and brew our beers. Gringolandia brings big craft beer flavor focused through the lens of our Latin meets Chicago experience. It's our tribute to the guts and glory that is American craft beer."
I'm enjoying this. A few sips and you get a pretty nice little buzz going. Would buy a six pack of this in a heartbeat.

Sam Adams Rebel IPA. It's okay...smells a bit like orange, and is a little bit hoppy. 6.5%alcohol by volume. This might be better on tap...not sure I'd buy a six pack of this.
