I just saw a trailer for this event, and while they were playing the black and white version in the trailer, they were still using the same jokes.

Most likely because they don't have the new ones recorded yet.

Guys, I decided to break the mold and actually buy my tickets well in advance instead of the night of! Valparaiso Cinemark, here I come! Looking forward to this (especially after my frantic inability to see Starship Troopers in the theater.)

Just got my tickets. Talked a few more friends into joining me this time. Should be a good time.

I'm really excited about this. I wonder if they'll show any more "Norman" shorts?

Got my tickets, very excited. Sadly, this will be the first time in years my lady and I are going by ourselves. Everyone else we usually gather together can't make it. Oh well, should be great. I love NotLD as is, but the guys have proven to me they can have fun with a movie even if I already like it (Halloween, Tourist Trap, Starship, Jaws).
Oh and BTW, Mike Nelson just posted this on Facebook:
Tomorrow at our Night of the Living Dead live show, the return of Norman Krasner. *UGH*

Just saw it. As expected, not a great Rifftrax live. Some good laughs, a few great zingers, but mostly Mike and co. seemed off. Too many of their riffs had nothing to do with what was happening on screen. A surprising number got no laughs at all, even from the studio audience. At a few points I felt bad for Mike and the guys. They must have been thinking, "Oh, God, we're dying here."
My verdict: Not nearly as good as the Manos re-riff or the Christmas shorts, but better than House On Haunted Hill.

I give it a solid B.
The black and white helped a lot, and they were very good with the Barbra zingers. But so much of the movie happens in real time that after a while even with riffing you're just sitting there thinking "okay, more wood over the windows."
Plus, one short just seems--odd. I wish they'd had time to do two.
But overall, a good one.

Funny thing happened at this one, a woman in the audience got too into the movie and let out a giant scream when the zombies reach in through the window. The audience was in stitches.
Both my and my theater had a fun time with it and I sure as hell didn't get a "dying" vibe from it. It was an improved commentary over previous releases, complete even with best moments from the previous ones. And the only time the energy ever seemed to die down was during the boarding up the house scenes, where they honestly had very little to work with.
Thusfar the Christmas Shorts and House on Haunted Hill have been the best with little competition. Living Dead may come in third for me, but I might have to watch Reefer Madness and Jack the Giant Killer again to make sure. Haven't watched Manos yet, but it's on my computer waiting for me.

Went with a group of friends, a few who had never heard of rifftrax, had to explain what it was all about. We all had a great time, lots of laughs. The theater wasn't all that full, but everyone seemed to enjoy it.

I didn't go. How was it?
Personally I've never been crazy about the idea of riffing NotLD, or Carnival of Souls, for that matter, because i think they're both great movies. But I have to admit of all the versions I like the Mike Nelson NotLD commentary for Legend best.
Do we know they broke with Legend? Maybe they just decided to go with the B&W as an aesthetic decision.

Really enjoyed the show. Our theater was pretty full, the only problem was this family sitting a few seats away from me brought their young kids, who didn't get the movie or the riffing, apparently. They were bored the whole time.
As for the show, my and my buddies enjoyed it. The Norman short was bizarre; seriously who made these things, where did the guys find them, and who is the target audience?
The movie was good, riffing was good too. I agree with others that when nobody says anything for like 10 minutes, it's kind of hard to riff. The carpentry jokes were great; Bill firing himself was funny too. I'd give it a solid B

Loved the show. The pre-show slides were pretty good this time. They got a lot of laughs and groans from the audience in my theater. It was great that they had a riffing contest, but I thought the 2nd place finisher "Subway, eat flesh" should have won.
I really enjoyed the Norman short. I think the film makers in the Norman series were trying to make inspirational films with the theme of "Hey, no matter how badly your life sucks, at least you're not THIS guy." Mike teased a forthcoming new short in which Norman uses a public toilet. I saw this one at my last Rifftrax Meetup (I have no idea how the meetup organizer got it before it was officially released), and it is utterly cringeworthy. Just the thought of seeing Norman on the toilet is enough to make me break out in a cold sweat.
The movie itself was fun. I think my favorite riffs had to do with the Coopers, especially Harry. All of the muttering and "go to hell" type riffs just seemed to fit the jittery, irritable mannerisms of the actor. The "beating off zombies" riffs got a huge laugh in my theater. All in all, it was a great night.
On to Santa Claus Conquers the Martians!

The theater I went to was about less than half full, but still plenty of people there. Though there might've been a few slow spots, it was a pretty great show. The bit on "beating off zombies" was a hit here too. Had a great time all around. Will be interesting to see Santa Claus Conquers the Martians getting riffed a THIRD time this December.

Maybe they just decided to go with the B&W as an aesthetic decision. Conor of Rifftrax said they split in one of the threads around here. Our theater had around sixty people in it. They seemed to have a really good time. I loved it by my two rather inexperienced mates rated it below Starship Troopers. Not everyone can handle the pace of this one. And I agree that its a good flick.
