What will happen today after Peyton Manning's 7 touchdown performance the other night? I love Opening week of football. I think my Packers should do well this season, although they start with a tough game today against San Fransisco.
The Bears might be the big question mark: how will new coach Marc Trestman's offense work? Will Jay Cutler play well? He's in the last year of his contract, so that will be an interesting story line to follow.
How will the Seahawks play? They start out early on the east coast, and they don't play well away from home.
The Jets are an absolute mess. Just how bad are they? Same goes for Buffalo and Oakland, btw.
Will RG III be completely healthy this year? Washington won't play until Monday night and it should be quite a game.
The Cowboys. I personally thought Jason Garrett should have been fired already, but I'm not Jerry Jones. I think he's gone if Dallas gets off to a slow start.

I am very apprehensive about RGIII's knee.

Yeah, I don't blame you on that. It will be very interesting to see how that plays out. I don't think RGIII played at all in pre-season, did he?

I don't know what the Eagles will be but they won't be boring!

No offense to Sky or New Mads, but the NFC East is brutal. Nobody seems to want to win. The Redskins should probably play the Raiders more often.

none taken! who'd have thought after these first few games that the mighty Giants would be the only team in the NFL (outside of the Raiders, of course) making the Redskins look good.
I dunno, football's not really grabbing me so far this year, and maybe part of the reason is that the NFC east really has gone from being a top-tier to a bottom feeding division. to my surprise I am quite enjoying the KC chiefs' and the lions' success. After starting off really strong, the Texans are starting to look like they might break my heart.

I expected the Eagles to have a tough go of it this year. The first game raised my hopes but reality has set in.
I'm with TheNewMads on KC. It was time for Andy to go as far as the Eagles are concerned but he's an excellent coach.

Yeah, the Chiefs are a really nice surprise. I would have to say the Browns are a pleasant surprise as well, but not sure if they can keep it going.

That Pats-Saints game was a rare pleasure. On the other hand, my twin Texans-Redskins fandom has yielded mostly comic relief so far this season. At least RGIII didn't seem totally useless last night, unlike Matt Schaub.

It feels good to live in the land of Seahawks right now. Though I am concerned about our O-line, poor Wilson is constantly on the run... and his accuracy has been suspect (throwing high for some reason). But if we can get some guys healthy that'll help. And Russell looked good Thursday, so maybe he's getting back on track.
D is a rock on pass plays -- and the "Beast" is my favorite player. I know this is a passing league now, but I still love watching a tough, bruising back eat up yards.

It's a good year to be a Broncos fan...so far. The last few games have been very sloppy, with dumb turnovers and bad play calling. The sudden 30-point outbursts hide the fact that much of the game is mistake-filled and frustrating, not to mention that Manning's passes are getting more wobbly every week. Considering they've lost 2 games in their last 21, I shouldn't really complain. But those 2 losses showed that if an opposing QB can throw deep with any accuracy, the Broncos are very beatable. Let's just say I don't want to meet the Colts again (or the Bengals in cold weather) in January.

Well Atari, our fan paths will cross again soon. I might make my final pick later, but given history and that it's at the blade and later in the season, it suggests a Manning defeat.

I'm very curious to see how the Broncos come out of their bye week against the Chargers & Chiefs. How banged up is Manning? Like last year at season's end, he's showing signs that he can't throw farther than 10 yards with any zip. Can they fix their protection flaws and turnover propensity? Can their secondary cover anyone against a good QB? They've proven they can win the 52-49 games, but what if they have to beat a team with a good pass rush and an above average passing game? You know, like the Chiefs.
The Pats have looked beatable this year. They eked out some wins against mediocre teams, and the lack of skill players on offense makes me doubt that they can keep up with the Broncos on the scoreboard. However, if the Broncos are still playing sloppy for a late November game in Foxboro, then all bets are off. Still, of the upcoming games, I'm more worried about the Chiefs in Arrowhead than I am about the Patriots.

Fair points all. I'd be more concerned about KC if I was you too. The Pats have been very beatable and are down their three best defenders plus a good offensive lineman. Only one those, Talib, might be back. Thing is, IF Gronk and Amendola can stay healthy (who knows) and the rookies continue to develop a rapport with Brady, this offense could really start clicking. Ridley is looking better as long he doesn't fumble and Vereen will be back by then as our third down/pass catching back. The offense has a high upside still while the defense is being scotch taped together. That said, Peyton and weather games often don't mix. Should be interesting.

The Redskins are breaking my heart this season, but they're not out of it yet. Really excited to see what they do against the Eagles this Sunday.
Hail to the Redskins!!!!
