Here's something cool I just stumbled upon, a horror-themed magazine called "Screem" recently came out with an issue to celebrate MST3K's 25th anniversary. screemag.com/index.phpAccording to their site, it has interviews with Joel and 10 directors whose films were featured on the show. The cover art by Mark Maddox looks really nice, too. Anyone want to pick this one up and see how it is?

This section never got updated, I have in my hand a copy of Screem Magazine's 27th issue. Inside it features interviews with Joel Hodgson, 8 MST3K film Alumni, Jordan Fields and Steve Vance. I thought I would give a list of the interviews as well as their opinions on the show.
Joel Hodgson: Mostly material reused from the Return to Eden Prairie Feature on the 25th anniversary DVD set. Nothing new there but still a good read.
Ross Hagen (Sidehackers and Hellcats): Calls it a Farce and says it really doesn't bother him.
William Grafe (Wild Rebels Director): Not a fan of MST3K. Thinks that all films deserve some respect no matter how much of a success they were.
Ben Solovey (Manos: the Hands of Fate Restoration Project founder): Talks about the history of Manos and his relations with the cast.
Greydon Clark (Angels Brigade director): Found some of the episode funny and not funny. Wasn't happy about the edit of the film that was used on the show.
Charlie Band (Laserblast Executive Producer): Thought it was hilarious. Appreciated that it gave the film a new life.
Rick Sloane (Hobgoblins Director): Loved the Episode but mortified by some of the jokes. States "they (MST) made it (the film) watchable."
Ted V Mikels (Girl In Gold Boots Director): Doesn't bother him, thought it was fun.
Jeff Lieberman (Squirm Director): Claims he doesn't "Give a Flying *F-word* about Mystery Science Theater 3000". Goes on for an entire column about how he doesn't care. Just my thought but In my experience I've found that when someone claims they don't care and then goes on and on about how they don't care, they actually care.
Jordan Fields: Talks about clearing movies for Rhino and Shout Factory as well other facets in the MST3K on DVD game.
Steve Vance: Talks about some of the art he's done.
A great read, I've only scratched the surface with what's in the mag. I highly recommend picking up an issue.

Better late than never. I picked up a copy of this while I was at Hastings today. Took me by surprise.
God that Jeff Lieberman interview was so strange. He comes off as someone extremely bitter who is trying not to act bitter but can't help but seem like the pouting person in the room who wants everyone to know he's pissed off. Then he claims he doesn't care about the show and has never seen it, then goes off and backhands it by calling it "lowest form of comedy" and claims that he could have done it if he wanted to (kind of like a child, "I could do that, I just don't feel like it."). But he also claims anyone who says he's sour at the show is "projecting" (I kid you not) even though you can tell he really is. He reads like he's one hell of an unpleasant person.
Everyone else was far more interesting. Even the ones who weren't fond of the series had far more valid reasons to be. William Grafe in particular waved off the show with grace with understandable reasoning.
Minor note, of all the people interviewed Jeff Lieberman was the only crew member that didn't have his episode yet released on DVD. Since someone from Ballyhoo sat down with these people, could that mean Squirm is on the immediate horizon for a release?
