The concept of not coming into work because of weather is lost on me, but when you're not experienced driving in those conditions, yeah, best to just stay put. It can be amusing to watch from afar, but when accidents become fatal due to the road conditions combined with inexperience, obviously that's not funny at all.
Take care down there, guys, and know your limits.

I think we ended up with an inch or two of snow on top of an inch or so of ice. Here are some pics of the old homestead. Front Back Yard How I imagine I look to the neighbors when they see me outside.

For me, I survived with an MST3k/Rocky and Bullwinkle Marathon. As well as getting some stuff done on a huge project I've been working on. But it'll be back to the salt mine (or slaughterhouse) tomorrow.

Gonna freeze again tonight, so any moisture left on the road (some parts are still white)is gonna freeze again. Here's the crazy part, by Saturday it will be 75F again! Gonna stay that warm until next Wednesday.
Getting a little tired of Mother nature and her Menstrual cycle.

We aren't getting above freezing tomorrow but I'm going back to work. If we had more than a couple inches the vette couldn't handle it. Not a lot of clearance. Wife took the Prius.

I'm loving my police scanner. The nuts can't stay home two nights in a row. They are on the loose tonight.

They were out again today, even though the road looked like a big white ice block. Funny thing is, they drove much slower today then yesterday while the sleet was coming down. They basically passed by at an idle, and boy did that piss the dog off. He barked at every vehicle that passed by.
I'll probably try to go to work tomorrow. Not much confidence in the car the state gives me and my truck is 4x4, but I'll probably still take the car. I took my truck last Friday, but I don't want to risk damage to my own property.

Wreck the state's car. Take no chances with your own. Though you should take it into consideration if the state has no other vehicles. What will they do if you wreck the only one?

So the South won't rise again? Nope. We are down for the count. Might as well throw in the towel. We've had it.
