Even if it is shameless promotion, it's shameless promotion that I can seriously get behind.

Ehh, I'm not so sure about this one, a "self-aware" movie like this doesn't seem like the kind of movie I'd enjoy for riffing. I think I'll still see it out of curiosity though, might like it regardless.

I typically hate movies that are trying to be bad, but even I thought that Sharknado was ridiculously entertaining. I'm sure it'll be a blast.

I'm like Triple_sSs... The movie is trying to be bad. I haven't seen the movie, but I've seen bits of it from the Nostalgia Critic review and it seemed to be trying TOO hard to be bad. However, there were some moments I could see the Rifftrax gang digging into with great pleasure. I guess I'm just so old school when it comes to movies they riff. I like the good old fashion stinky cheese the best. Oh well. As usual, I'll be there like I am at every Rifftrax LIVE event... and if anyone can make it fun, Mike, Kevin and Bill can. I also wasn't too thrilled about Starship Troopers before I saw it, and I ended up loving that one.

That could be part of the difficulty, though. I mean, Catalina Caper was trying to be funny, and that made it tricky to Riff.
Having said that... I think the Rifftrax folk know what they're doing, and if they think they can make it funny then I'm willing to give it a shot. It'll finally give me an excuse to see Sharknado, if nothing else.

Ehh, I'm not so sure about this one, a "self-aware" movie like this doesn't seem like the kind of movie I'd enjoy for riffing. I agree -- it's going to be pretty pointless to riff a movie that is straining as hard as it can to riff itself. I won't be going as my son will be at CTY and we usually go together, but frankly even if he were around I might skip it. Have they disclosed whether they were approached by the Sharknado people and possibly paid to riff this movie? I mean, really, who cares, it's just a bit of fun, but still, it does seem to go against the way they generally choose movies. I remember Frank Coniff saying that they would never choose a movie like Attack of the Killer Tomatoes to riff on MST because it was already trying to be a bad movie so it would be too "meta" to riff it. It's basically beating a dead horse.... So I can understand if they got a special deal from the Sharknado people but that's the only way this makes sense to me. But as I said, not one of the great issues of our day!

Is anyone planning on going to get tix to see it in Minneapolis? I'm thinking of going to see it in person and wondering if anyone else here was going to see it live.

I'm with Spackle on this one. The movie is horrible but entertainingly bad. I'll be all in for three tickets again, including son and son-in-law.

Question -- is it pronounced the American way (shark-NAY-do) or the British way (shahk-NAH-do)?
