Great. Just great. Another year, another playoff lineup full of Cardinals and Giants.
Baseball hates me.
Go Orioles, Pirates, and/or Royals!

But what about the Nationals?

Of the 5 NL teams, only the Buccos and the Nats have any rooting interest from me. I'll dust off my old Expos hat in solidarity.
But this looks like a slam dunk Dodgers vs. Angels World Series, which wouldn't be too terrible, I guess. But a Pirates vs. Royals World Series would be a mind-blowing piece of history. Could you imagine?
The sooner the Cards & Giants get eliminated, the sooner I can enjoy the postseason.

Solidarity with the Expos means hating the Natinals with a fervid passion hotter than a thousand suns. It's much easier to do if you know how much of a douche Bryce Harper is.

I am surprised that the Angels got swept; figured they'd win at least one game with that lineup. Baltimore looks really good. I've seen a lot of their games, since I'm a Yankee fan and I think they can go all the way. Heard on TV that since it's an even year, then the Giants would go to the World Series. I don't know though...I never count out the Cardinals. They always seem to find a way to win.

The ALCS is my World Series this year. Two teams I enjoy that haven't been there in years (decades). I'll be cheering for the Royals, 'cause they're so darned exciting. But I'd be happy with the O's and Showalter finally getting to the WS.
I may not even watch one inning of the NLCS. Not only are they the teams that are the main rivals of my favorite teams (Cubs & Rockies), but they win every year, even when they're not very good, causing their insufferable fanbases to feel even more justified in their smugness. Thanks for nothing, Dodgers and Nationals! And, to a lesser extent, Pirates!

I'm definitely pulling for the Royals this year. Even though they're a division rival to the Twins, I still like them. Back when the Twins were threatened with contraction, I was seriously contemplating switching my allegiance to the Royals, as they're about the same distance away from me. Thankfully, the Twins survived that devil Selig and his evil plans, but I still hold a soft spot for Kansas City. George Brett, Bo Jackson, Brett Saberhagen, Flash Gordon. There were some cool teams there.
I almost always root for the AL in the World Series. The exception this year might have been Pittsburgh, as I think Andrew McCutchen is a hell of a player, but they didn't make it. So as it sits right now, go Royals!

I'm loving this Royals run, but I wish it was happening against a different team, like the Red Sox or Yankees. The O's deserve better.
But I've seen this all before. It's very reminiscent of what we had here in Colorado in '07. They had the best fielding percentage of any team in history, timely hits, and a pitching staff that flew under the radar. It was crazy run to make the playoffs (winning 21 of 22 just to make it), followed by an insane extra-inning play-in game. Then we swept our way to the world series (the only team ever to do that), and had to wait over a week for the ALCS to go 7 games. By the time the Red Sox got here, the confidence and energy had inevitably worn down and it was over in a blink. Sadly, because of the lackluster WS, people have already forgotten what an amazing run that was.
I hope the Royals have a better fate. But it looks like the NLCS might go the distance, meaning the mojo in KC is at risk.

I've seen a lot of both the Royals and the Orioles, and I'm surprised it was a sweep, though I'm not surprised that Kansas City won. I also thought about the Rockies in 2007, as I listened to the game on the radio on my way home. Someone on the radio said that since this was an even year, the Giants would win the World Series. Since my team isn't even playing, it's a lot easier to watch the playoffs without getting worked up. It will be interesting to see.

CARDS LOSE! CARDS LOSE! CARDS LOSE!
And in a beautifully heartbreaking way! The tears of the so-called best fans in baseball taste soooooo good. Even moreso because they made me cheer for the frickin' Giants.
I'd feel bad about being such a hater, but it's been 106 years. Schadenfreude is all I have left.

Don't care for either NL team even though I follow the Brewers, but I was SO incredibly glad the Cardinals lost. I don't like the Giants either, though, so I'll be rooting for the Royals.

The NL has been a parade of insufferability in this year's playoffs. Washington, besides being a stolen team, has Harper (whom I loathe), the Cardinals (made even worse by the behavior of some of their fans towards protestors of the Ferguson shooting), and the Giants, who are a black hole of craptastic announcers, annoying fans, and just plain douchey feel (outside of the Hunter Pence trolling, which has been pretty funny).

I have to say, that World Series was quite good. The Royals may have came up short, but damned if they didn't make the Giants *work* for that WS Title!
