Just heard this. I grew up on Star Trek when it was running in syndication after the late local news. My mom would stay up with me so I could watch it on Sunday nights, then on to the movies when they started coming out (I began with the second, and finest, one). Very sad to hear this, he was an interesting actor and person.
Perhaps a little Wrath of Khan tonight, to really send him off in grand fashion.
Rest well, sir.

Rest in Peace Leonard Nimoy. Thanks for the 40+ years of entertainment. Not only in Star Trek as Mr. Spock. But as Paris in Mission Impossible, The Twilight Zone and many westerns.

he had such a long and amazing career - he seemed like a genuinely nice guy and was so patient with the constant fandom that followed him 24/7, i'm sure. but out of all of it, i get the biggest kick out of the times he lent his voice to the simpsons.

Friday nights are usually my MST3K nights but tonight I'll dig out my Star Trek DVDs and watch "This Side of Paradise".

Take care young ladies and value your wine Be watchful of young men in their velvet prime Deeply they'll swallow from your finest kegs Then swiftly be gone leaving bitter dregs Oh, oh oh oh... Bitter dregs
Sad day indeed. Made me think of this melancholic song sung, quite unwillingly, by Spock. Like many others on this board, my first exposure to sci-fi was Star Trek in syndication. My dad loved the show going back to when it first aired. In the mid-80s, it was on weeknights at 6 p.m. on the only TV channel my family could fully pull in on an antenna. I was hooked for life. RIP and LLAP indeed.

Logic dictates that we not dwell too sadly on the passing of icons.

Sad to hear of this. Definitely one of the good ones.
Edit: In tribute to Leonard Nimoy, I've given my 10,000th post to him. ...apparently.
