Thought I'd start a new one so we can keep them separate, new season of WD starts in a few weeks and we shouldn't clump everything together. Problem is, not much happening on FTWD. Though, maybe, with just two episodes left and Nick being dragged off, the wife of Ruben Blades being taken without him, and what's her name, Liza? going too, maybe things will pick up for the last two. I'm hoping it gets more interesting. So, whoever was signaling with the mirror or whatever it was from that building outside the safe zone, I guess Travis got that person killed by telling the army dick. Or is it National Guard? I don't know. (Edit: Army). Nothing really stood out for me in any of these episodes, so maybe a whole thread is unnecessary. At least for the moment. But anyway... It's started. So...if anyone has an actual thought on the show, ( 'cause apparently I'M not providing any insight) here it is.

I don't know. Maybe I misread the ending, but I thought at the end of the episode Travis and Madison tried signaling the mystery person at night with a flashlight and the mystery person responded in kind. So the mystery person is apparently alive, but who knows for how long. The show has been slowly growing on me, and I mean slowly. Knowing things that come later in The Walking Dead, it is kind of interesting to watch these people react to situations that are eerily similar to ones that TWD has touched on. And what happened to their neighbor's husband - the one who came home and had his wife shot in his arms by the army. Did they mention it and I just missed it? For some reason I thought we would see more of him. I think the two last episodes of this initial run should be interesting. It doesn't grip me like TWD, but there's no shame in that.

I thought I saw gunfire going off in that window far away when Travis was looking at it, I thought that's why he had that horrified look, like, oops I just signed that person's death warrant. I'll have to watch it again to see if I really saw that or not.
I kind of drift in and out of attentiveness when I watch this because it just oozes along.
I still think the reactions of these people are not intense enough to what's going on around them. I mean, I know they can't be screaming or bawling every two seconds or anything, but, you know.

Re-watched it. Yes, definitely looked like gunfire to me.

SoOo...they were the only ones on the road. RiIight. Was anyone else thinking "Do things FASTER!" But, hey, an actual Walker hoard. Starting to look like our show. Travis having to kill Liza was the first time this show got an emotional reaction out of me.
(Didn't know Griselda enough to really be too upset).

The big question: Will Nick EVER wash his hair?

So, he showers, and jumps in the ocean and STILL his hair is a mess. I know they're going for a "look" with him, but, jeez, kid, use a comb.
He knows now that Walker guts - or "Infected" guts - gets you some kind of pass. I'm guessing he'll use that a lot. He seemed like he enjoyed that little bit of knowledge.

Well, that was a crappy mid-season finale. Just go off in different directions, people. Good move.

Wow. These people really don't do the whole "emotions" thing very good, do they? They're so blah about everything.
Hey, my son is gone and he's a killer. Think I'll hold off on expressing any feelings on that.
Well, hey, my husband killed himself and I lied to the kids. My son is an addict and took off in an apocalypse. I really should try to connect to my daughter, the only kid I have left, whom I kind of ignored her whole life, and hey my husband is back. But, eh.
They're HORRIBLE! I want to like this, but, it's not working so far. The season finale is tonight. (Original returns! Yea!). I'm hoping everyone but Nick dies and Nick starts heading east and we just see his adventures until he catches up with Rick's group. Rick mistakes him for a Walker and shoots him in the face.

....
Well, at least Travis showed SOME emotion, heh. Now he's a killer, too. And Madison. And Alicia. The family that slays together, stays together. Are we supposed to be ROOTING for these people?
They ended Chris' story pretty lamely. Just these dudes telling the story of how he died.
Weird. A lot of the same people are involved in this show as the original, but they seem to not know what they're doing or where they're going with this one.

The season was lukewarm, but the finale was halfway decent. I'm glad Travis finally beat the holy hell out of those two guys, but I didn't buy Chris was dead until Hardwick went on about it during The Talking Dead. I thought the flashbacks of Chris dying was a visualization for the audience but not intended to necessarily be true or not. I guess it is, and that is too bad, though he was on a rough path. The one thing about this show that consistently delivers is the guy who plays Nick (Frank Dillane). Even though I wasn't excited about the recovering junkie in the apocalypse story line at first, his performances have been completely compelling from day one. It's too bad they can't make it work with everyone else. Now to start focusing on The Walking Dead. I'm ready

Cliff (Travis) looked like he was actually RELIEVED to be off the show.
