Hey, all! It's that time, and Halloween is upon us. Any good costumes for parties?
I'm considering going as Dr. Robotnik since there's a villain-themed party. Or I might put on a sweater, and grab a saxophone and rubber ducky to go as Ernie from Sesame Street.

With my Civil War uniform, I have a built in costume, however I'm going to try something different this year. I've been watching kids shows in Spanish to try and learn the language and I'm going as my favorite Spanish cartoon character, Pato from the show Pocoyo(which is also in English and a whole bunch of other languages, I'm told)

is this the first year we didn't dress up for halloween on the board? kinda sad. I thought about starting the annual thread, but that was back in the first week of October and I remember people griping that starting it then was way too early. Next thing you know time gets away from you. Should have done it when I thought of it. The board Halloween costume thing used to be a big deal. Really is kind of a comment on the state of the board.

Actually, the only reason I hadn't changed a costume yet (in addition to a weird bout of forgetfulness) was that crazy new thing that proboards uses for avatars now. I don't like change, dangit!
So, uh... should I, like... make a thread for costumes?

If Joel's rumored reboot really happens though, I'm hoping we might get a bit more activity going on around here.

This Halloween was the first in quite some time that some hipster hasn't tried to convince me that Halloween III is some sort of underrated masterpiece (no...no it isn't) that people only hate because Michael Myers isn't in it (no...no they don't) and then repeat that stupid Silver Shamrock jingle (please don't).
So it was the best Halloween ever.

So it was the best Halloween ever. I never could get into that one, even though it has the best name of the entire series. Even the name doesn't make any sense, though. There are no witches, at least none that I remember.

No, you're right, there weren't any witches. Just a weird Irish guy who made masks with pieces of Stonehenge in them to kill innocent children. Or something like that.

Hmm. Having never seen the movie I can't rightly comment on it. Having said that... "Season of the Witch" is a fair title, I think, associating the season itself with occult practices even if it doesn't have a Hollywood-style witch in it. Apparently there was some attempt to make Halloween an "anthology series" with each movie containing its own characters, lore, and mythos.
I can understand why fans wouldn't like that, I think.
