I'd really love an early episode to have the bots contact Mike, expecting him to be distraught about their absence, only to see that he's completely got on with his life after a decade and a half of them cramping his style.

In Joel's Reddit AMA, he said the new Mad is "Dr. Forrester's offspring". The wording of that might denote a female Mad. We will have to see. I'm so freaking excited about this!
And I too am thinking like others have surmised that Jonah Ray might be the new resident of the Satellite of Love. He's worked with Joel before, and he's already amassed a fairly offbeat comedy career so far.

The current theory is that Jonah Ray is the new host, and Felicia Day is the new mad. Not confirmed though. Apparently there will be videos over the next few days announcing the cast.

It would probably be funnier if he didn't even notice they were gone. NOTE: The Kickstarter ends day one with nearly $900,000. That's about 80% more than the average Rifftrax Kickstarter makes in a full run! But of course, Rifftrax asks for much less, but it's starting to look like at least three episodes are on the way. Thirty days to go! Make it happen, internet!

I am going to donate. What is the worst that can happen? Episodes of your favorite show that aren't as good as your favorite episodes of your favorite show? Doesn't sound so bad to me.

I heard about this from my husband and flipped the F out!
Never a better birthday gift was ever given, Mads. After my natal day checks clear I will definitely donate!
As for the worries--it's legit to worry about time and space shifting something you really love, the way we love this show. I mean, when Rifftrax redid Manos I full on panicked that this was it, the end was nigh, my love was about to have to face the downward slide. But it didn't--it was just fabulous.
So I trust Joel and Trace and Frank and any/everybody else involved. I've trusted them for over twenty years (my GOD) and it hasn't been misplaced yet.
Excelsior! Onward! Second star to the left! Disney lawsuit! No Fear!

At the 25 hour mark they got 1 million! Imagine what they could do if donations stayed at this pace for the next 30 days!

I love the hell out of Felicia Day, and would hand over $500 for any project involving her alone. That said, I'm trying to picture her as a Mad and can't quite achieve it. She's so meek and cute in everything she does.
But if she's involved my anticipation goes through the roof.

I'm going in 100! No matter how this new series turns out, I want to give back for all of the years this show has made me laugh!

Day 2: Looks like we're closing today with a total of over $1.3 million. The increase today was a little less than $450,000, which is about a 50% decrease from yesterday. It's to be expected, because Kickstarters like this are top-heavy. The crawl from now on will most likely be slower than this, and increase again as it closes. The drop off honestly was a lot smaller than I expected today to bring, so I'd call this a victory.
If we have a similar decrease tomorrow, it would still be good for $200,000, which would fling us past the 75% mark.

There was a decent push last night, driven by celebrity Twitter accounts like Patton Oswalt supporting the campaign.
