I went ahead and ordered the coffee table book add-on. I think most of the other things that interest me I already got one of through the KS.

Hey all - new here, but (relatively) long time MSTie. Over the moon about the revival. Anyway, on the subject of how the 'bots wind up with Noah... in my mind, the first segment of the first new episode would play out roughly like this: Joel is lecturing at the Gizmonic institute as a guest of honor. No longer a lowly janitor, he's an acclaimed scientist. His invention exchanges over the years earned him a lot of respect in the scientific community, but most of it stems from his creation of the 'bots. Fully functional sentient beings; they are also present (and taking lots of credit). Gypsy runs a successful corporation. Crow and Servo... are still living with Mike and haven't amounted to all that much. But hey, robots! Kinga Forrester feels insulted; Joel's accomplishments were only possible because of her family's twisted experiment. She deserves the recognition! Plans revenge. Intends to lure Joel and the 'bots into a "full scale replica" (actually fully functional duplicate) of the Satellite of Love. Crow, Servo, Gypsy, Cambot enter, complain that it isn't accurate to the original. "Looks like it was made with a three dee printer or something!" Joel, however, steps out for whatever reason (bathroom, phone call, etc), unbeknownst to Kinga. Enter Jonah, a low ranking Gizmonic staff member. Lost, hoping to have met Joel. Kinga launches them into space. The experiment continues. Oh, and Son of Frank is just there, no explanation. Que theme song. I was picturing something like this.

Naysayers gonna naysay. I'm all for the reboot, even though 'muh storyline' and blah blah blah. If it wasn't Joel restarting it, I'd be more apprehensive, but the man himself is bringing back that which he had birthed unto this planet.
Fresh new riffs for the younger generations. Do it for the Children™

Heck yeah I have complete and utter faith in Joel's ability to pull it off. He always reminds me of the Willy Wonka line, "We are the music makers, and we are the dreamers of dreams."

Ok, My story. Jonah finds a couple of bots in an escape pod floating in space. He turns them on and they say they are Crow and Tom and that the bots with Mike are their backups. When they thought the SOL would crash they left the ship to try to make a heroic effort to save them but turned their backups on just before they left. Of course, the bots with Mike say that they are the real bots and that they had sent their backups on the heroic mission and they stayed with Mike.
Jonah and the bots call Mike and the bots who are working in Rifftrax riffing a movie, maybe the same one in the episode. Jonah asks mike for help but Mike thinks he's an over eager fan. The two sets of bots argue with each other about whose the real ones. When he was on the SOL he knew that the experiments were being shown on TV but he didn't know that he had so many fans. The entire skit has all sorts of obvious product placements including many for Rifftrax as kind of a meta joke. At the end Mike hangs up on Jonah because he doesn't believe there is a new SOL.
Mike might go for it because he would get a lot of free advertising.

Not gonna lie: if tomorrow we heard that Joel had fled the country with the $6 million... I'd laugh a lot and not really be mad about it.

New update, though it's on the short side.

New update, though it's on the short side. I think the bots have been reading my stuff. During the telethon they had a Crow video with Eye of the Tiger and now they're both there with We Are the Champions. They're little plagiarists and I wouldn't have it any other way.

Plagiarism: it has a grand tradition in storytelling. *Nods*

I'm still insanely happy about the result of the revival campaign. (I'm expecting a continuation and can't bring myself to call it a reboot.)
This has been the most awful of my 37 years on this planet - and the return of the Satellite of Love has drowned many a bad thought in warm, fuzzy, happy and christmassy gunk.
Good times.

The Kickstarter was more exciting then I could have ever imagined honestly...I was surprised it went so well given that for a while I didn't think it would make the 12. It's one of those cases where I couldn't be happier that I was wrong, and I eagerly await the 14 new episodes.

Fourteen just blew me away. Plus, as you say, it was exciting. There were a lot of ups and down, but Joel had a good response to most of the ebbing and flowing as it happened that made it engaging rather than ever being disheartening.

The thing that I found most strange was the Veronica Mars fans who chose to leave large pledges (often about 6k) and the pull out the second they hit a landmark. Why would the be so bothered by the possibility of a project topping them already after that movie was already made? Silliness of that aside it was great seeing how dedicated this fanbase still is after all these years and I think that alone is bound to turn some heads to hopefully secure MST3K's place in getting even more seasons in the future.
