So... I didn't want to derail the topic in the main thread discussing the Kickstarter, but I was surprised to see a weird negative reaction to Yahoo Screen. The only problem is that Yahoo Screen SUCKS. I tried to watch Other Space on it and gave up and just got a torrent of the eps. I will give even more money to Kickstarter if it means MST3K will never be tied to Yahoo Screen. We're in big trouble if it goes there. And that's fine, sure. Folks don't like Yahoo Screen, apparently. I've only used it to watch Other Space and Community season 6, and it seemed okay for that, but it's apparent that other folks don't want it for MST3K. So... if it goes online instead of onto a TV channel, where would you like it? Netflix and Hulu are the two biggies, of course, but I don't use rich-person Internet so I can't really comment on them or if they'd be good for the show. (Bad for me, of course, since I'd have to pay for them and, well, see previously mentioned comment about the Internet I don't use.) If nothing else, Netfli and Hulu would reach a pretty wide audience. I've also heard a lot about Pluto TV lately from the Skype channel that opened up for the show. I've never used it, but Pluto TV *does* have its own MST3K channel already. Anyway... I'm clearly out of my depth on this topic so... where would you want to see it if it winds up online?

I thought AMC was on traditional TV, not primarily online. I feel like I'm doing TV wrong these days, maybe this is why.

I don't like the way Pluto TV randomly inserts commercials instead of using the proper times. But all the streaming sites seem to do the same.

From a technical standpoint, I have no problem watching something on Yahoo Screen. If that's where it ends up, of course I'll watch. I'd love it to be on television again, though. The show started out broadcasting on UHF, for god's sake, and then really found its home on cable. I don't know if it will ever get there again, but if Yahoo Screen is willing to give it a shot, then that's where I'm going to tune in. The show needs a home, and Yahoo Screen just canceled two shows - Community and Other Space. MST3K is a project they don't have to fund - they can just put it out there. If it does well, maybe they can take over production costs. I'm just guessing, but I'd bet MST3K costs less to produce than either Community or Other Space. Regardless, it seems low-risk to whoever wants to pick up the new version. If someone else is interested in the show I'd be all ears for them, too.

I've grown to really like the Pluto.tv App and it's MST3K channell. I can access it on pretty much all my devices, and the quality is good. I'll probably tune in via the luto.tv app on my Amazon Fire Stick or Phone.

Anyone use a Kindle Fire? I'd love to find a way to watch on an app instead of a browser, but apparently the Yahoo app and Pluto.tv apps don't work with older model Kindle Fires.

I hope it's Hulu, as they have a lot of stuff I love on that service and I'm looking for an excuse to push me into subscribing to it.

Now that it's going away, I decided to check and see if the Roku channel still works. Not only does it still work, but it appears they have removed all of the commercials from Other Space and now the episodes stream and function flawlessly! What an incompetent company Yahoo is.

Aww. I'm kinda sad to hear that. Still, I'm guessing other people will see it as great news.

Has anyone heard anything about NBC/Universal's new SeeSo channel? It's a comedy-driven streaming service, and I guess they're going to host the entire archive of SNL, among some other NBC shows, and air new content. I have a weird suspicion MST could land there. My only real reason for thinking this is that Jonah Ray is doing one of the new shows they'll be streaming...
Could be interesting.
