Lord, how long has it been since I made a thread? I don't recall...I, I....I don't recall.
So we have the full (?) cast with the latest update:
Mad: Felicia Day Host: Jonah Ray Servo: Baron Vaughn Crown: Hampton Yount
Personally, I find this all excellent. We will all quibble and shout until we see how they do, of course. I've already seen plenty of backlash against Felicia Day as the "Mad," but I like it, especially the weird turn around sexual harassment potential they played with in the #8 update. I think she's perfect both symbolically as a "cult" figure and as a campy actress. The others I know less of. Jonah Ray's demeanor seems great on camera, although maybe more excitable when he's in sillhouette. The others...I just don't know them. Input from those that do?
(Editor's note: for any newbies who don't know me, I'm a god here. A. GOD!)

Yeah, I noticed a bit of that, too; that might've just been a one-off joke for the update video, but it'd definitely put a different twist on the dynamic between the Host and the Mad. The update video also reminded me of Pearl a little, sort of driven by quick impulses and a calculated approach to keeping the schemes rolling. "Where did my little robotic money-makers go?" felt like it was in that family of line delivery. It might also suggest that, once again, the story will be that the mad scientist is using the experiments as a TV show to keep the funding rolling in.

I wonder who the new Mad Sidekick will be... Could it be someone more higher-profile than Felicia Day? Considering that there's been no hints whatsoever... Hell, you could even make a video out of it: hold 'Mad Auditions', toss in a few cameos from celebrities and older cast members (put Frank's mugging skills to good use), and have Day in character make the final call.

I've already gone on record that I ADORE Felicia. She's going to be fantastic.
The others I know next to nothing about. I like what I hear from Jonah and Hampton in the videos. Baron I'm trying my damnedest tow warm up to. I'm happy there's a non-caucasian in the theater, however I find his voice too similar to Jonah's and am having trouble telling them apart at times.

I heard the faintest whisper of a rumbling about Kristen Schaal. She's not exactly high profile, but I think she'd be *perfect* for it. (For those not familiar, she played Wassername on 30 Rock, the band's only fan on Flight Of The Conchords, and voices Mabel in Gravity Falls. I think she's also in Bob's Burgers, but I've never watched that.)

Re: the other Mad:
I seriously doubt it's Patton but that would be amazing! We know he's a fan...

Thoughts on the new MST3K cast: Not too familiar with them of course, but I’m kinda liking them so far!
Felicia Day seems like a good choice for the Mad. Her character in the new video is kinda cute, I get a “Pearl 2.0” vibe from her and I like that. Baron Vaughn sounds decent as Servo, though like others have said he sounds a little too similar to the new host but hopefully it won’t be too much of an issue. Hampton Yount however, sounds kinda similar to Trace’s Crow and I LOVE that! Already digging his take on Crow so far. And Jonah Ray, I’m starting to warm up to him too and I bet he’ll be a great host for the new show! (But wow is he tall, lol)
I know some people have varying opinions on the new folks, but I, for one, welcome our new MST3K overlords.

I thought Day was great in the new video update! I love how she referred to Jonah as a "stack of flapjacks." She'll fit right in I think Vaughn and Yount should do well, too, it will just take a bit to get used to the new voices.

I like the new cast, too. I wasn't familiar with them before (not being a follower of Internet nerd culture), but they already seem to have good chemistry, and we all know that Joel has a good eye for talent.

Baron Vaughn is the co-host of Maltin on Movies, so there's a chance of Leonard Maltin making a return to the show to bring more pain.
