I posted a lot of ideas for movies in the thread in General Chat, but this is my prediction for Season 11. Apart from the Christmas movie (which already has a Ballyhoo doc), the other movies have all been shown in HD on television in the past. Experiment #1101: It's Alive! (1969) Experiment #1102: The Neanderthal Man (1953) Experiment #1103: The Tomb (1986) Experiment #1104: Gappa, the Triphibian Monster (1967) Experiment #1105: Creation of the Humanoids (1962) Experiment #1106: The Atomic Submarine (1959) Experiment #1107: Werewolves on Wheels (1971) Experiment #1108: The Devil's Rain (1975) Experiment #1109: The Christmas That Almost Wasn't (1966) Experiment #1110: Frankenstein Meets the Space Monster (1965) Experiment #1111: Destination Inner Space (1966) Experiment #1112: Octaman (1971) Experiment #1113: In the Year 2889 (1967) Experiment #1114: The Mighty Peking Man (1977) If I get even one right, I'll be pretty happy! From Joel's interview today: "Since we’re putting in an all-new cast, I want the movies to feel somewhat familiar. We don’t have anything from the ‘50s or ‘60s. Maybe one. But I am hesitant to..." www.blastr.com/2016-1-29/back-satellite-love-joel-hodgson-talks-behind-scenes-journey-back-mystery-science-theaterLOL - well, there goes half of my guess list!

Unfortunately, that's what I guessed would be the case when Joel said all movies would be 16:9 widescreen. You aren't going to find many obscure, bad B-movies with pristine widescreen transfers. And what sucks even more is that that means there can't be any films from before 1953.

Oh man, I just watched Creation of the Humanoids last week. The amount of people standing around and talking made it a deathly dull watch. That's an interesting quote from Joel. I would have thought that late 60s films would've been fair game.

Just thought of a movie that Shout currently distributes that would be great on the show: the 90's Captain America movie.
You know you want it.

If they could wrangle the rights from WB, three of the four Gamma One films (plus The Green Slime!) would be perfect for the show. The Green Slime....that would make me very happy.

I hope they eventually get around to doing some 50s and 60s black and white movies.

Yep. It even got a nod in The Winter Soldier. "Where did Captain America learn to steal a car?" "Nazi Germany. And we're borrowing. Get your feet off the dash. "

That's REALLY disappointing to hear there will be no 50s/60s movies. Still excited as hell to find out what films they dug up to use though.

I figure that "Green Slime" would be a good choice, not just because the movie provides a lot of material, but because Joel never did a full, proper riffing on it in the pilot. As I posted elsewhere, I hope they'll riff on the movies CT used for lives shows they didn't record for posterity, ("Doll Squad", "Astral Factor" and "Samson and the Seven Miracles of the World").

Yeah, like Frank said "I like how he never riffed on it, he just leaves."
Still, it is kind of a bummer that they won't be doing movies from the 50's and 60's... I mean, why not? They're obviously going to be familiar to someone. So long as they don't do another Manos. I mean, it does still leave the 70's and 80's, which obviously has their own fair share of cheese. Then again Werewolf was a 90's movie, and it is my favorite episodes. So I will not lose hope.
