Could be anything. But I am hoping his "surprise" relates to that "earliest episodes" comment he made months ago.

That video of "Mr. Waverly" dancing and singing was kind of adorable. Really hope we'll be seeing more of that bot.

On the character level, we've already started writing him into a sketch, which is the first step in integrating him into the show. We still have to figure out how he'll relate to Tom Servo, Crow, and Gypsy, and more importantly, how they'll feel about him.
I imagine there will be some jealousy from Servo regarding this bot's fully functional arms.

I almost died laughing while watching Measuring Man. It was far more lame than it sounds.

Yay, update!
Not really much there though. So we have rights, and some more pics of the little puppet he already showed us in a previous post.
I don't really mind much, though. It looks like he's having tons of fun in MST3K-land, and he deserves it. I think the new show will be different in some good ways and some bad ways, but it does look like it's going to be a fun show made by people who were having fun.

Its been a while since I backed a KS. The April 15th Kickstarter update has the link to get the Rifftrax rewards under the heading "Rifftrax Live". From there, it will give you the option to either stream or download them, or, if you have a Rifftrax account, add them to your Library.

I do remember seeing Tom floating about in one of the theater-styled Kickstarter videos. I'm fine with this. There's certainly precedent for both working in-universe, onscreen and off. I have no problem with more functionality for the 'bots, so long as they still look the same. Though, I don't think I can ever see Crow's legs and not have flashbacks to that Girl in Gold Boots host segment.

I wouldn't blame him if he pulled out of the project altogether, took some time out of showbiz. He's a single dad all of a sudden.

Joel seems to be the type that wouldn't recast under these circumstances, so maybe we get a new Mad instead of a new Frank, leaving the door open for Patton if/when he's ready to return (assuming the show lasts beyond this season).

Damn. That's the most terrible thing I could imagine happening to someone.
