In his honor, we should all change to the purple theme for a day.

How sad, a multi-talented musician and performer, to say the least.
I'll have to watch Agent for H.A.R.M. in his honor.

this news hit me harder than i expected. i was 16 when prince was at his biggest in '84. his style fits in today; he's always been cool. but in 1984 he was incredible. he was pop, he was rock, he was funk. he was an amazing musician. i liked how weird he could be - the whole thing with his name - TAFNAP, etc. but you can't deny the talent he had. a work friend and i were having lunch today and she casually mentioned it - i was absolutely floored. too soon, world. too soon. i would wear paisley in his honor if i had any.

the media, as usual, is really hoping prince was a drug addict, by their headlines. it does sound like he had a problem with pain killers for his hip, but it also seems he was aware of it and was trying to find an alternative. i've read those who knew him well said he lived a pretty clean life, and he just never put off that kind of vibe, which i know means nothing. i was surprised to learn he didn't leave a will - someone with that kind of money and fame i would think would surely have done so. and what is this - he left behind something like two thousand unreleased songs behind? still bummed about it. i found this clip from the tonight show of fallon talking about the time he played ping pong with prince (who wore a blue crushed velvet suit), which is a pretty funny story.
