I'm taking Thursday and Friday off from work to spend time with my kids and see the simulcast with my son. I don't remember any riffs from "Time Chasers" so it'll all be fresh for me. Who else is going? Anyone going to Nashville? They still had tickets left there just a couple days ago.

I was hoping to go to a Captain America marathon tomorrow, but I guess I'll be seeing this instead because I can't catch the rerun.
So I'll be seeing this at about 7 and Civil War in IMAX at 10, best of both worlds.

Time Chasers is actually my favorite episode of MST3K, and I think the movie itself is the most watchable one the show ever featured. God help me, for as silly as the movie got, I actually thought that it had some clever moments. Now that I know that the director was 20 years old at the time of its making, I'm even more impressed by the final product. That being said, I've been growing a bit weary of the reriffing trend that's been going on since Cinematic Titanic took on Santa Claus Conquers the Martians, so I'm going to wait to hear how people respond to the show and probably buy the DVD or download the show when it's available.

I got my tickets for this and the reunion show in June, so, yeah, I'll be going. It'll be interesting to see what new riffs they can come up with. One of my favorite original riffs came from Bill: So, in the future, kids become gay agents?

I've seen all the live shows either in theaters or in the live audience. The first half dozen were six hours driving in one night for the simulcasts. I vowed to make them all and have been fortunate to succeed so far.

Well...The original was better.

Well that may have just replace Plan 9 as the lamest Live show. It had some wild highs, but mostly the audience was fairly quiet throughout most of it. Could have just released the original episode to theaters and the audience would have been in stitches.
Chimp short wasn't very funny either. IT'S A CHIMP IN A FIRE DEPARTMENT! How do you not hit a home run with that?

My theater lost power (I still can't type those two words without hearing Big McLargehuge's voice) about halfway through. Got a refund and some free movie tickets, so that's not so bad, I guess. What I saw was okay, but the original riffs were much funnier. Unless things rapidly improved in quality after that point, I imagine it would have turned out to be my least favorite live show yet.

The audience in my theater was great and howled the whole way through. I thought they did a great job and seeing the Time Chasers cast onstage at the end was fun too.
I'd like that.

I couldn't go to the live show because I have a writer's group that meets on the first Thursday of every month. Here's hoping nothing gets in the way of the repeat...

I couldn't make it either, but I've got my ticket for the repeat. However, these reviews are lessening my excitement somewhat. Then again, Torgo doesn't like anything that doesn't have Godzilla or the Joker in it. Then again, Godzilla vs. the Joker is something I could get behind.

To be fair, I do like Buster Keaton and Frank Capra. I don't recall seeing any of those with Godzilla or the Joker in it, but that doesn't mean I'm not intrigued by the notion. It wasn't a terrible show, but I could tell something was amiss when the audience both in the show and at my theater seemed to be laughing at riffs from the MST version in their heads during dead space. Quite a few of the riffs were fine alternatives, and the some of the deleted material from the MST version was a delight. It got better as it went along too, though as the experience settles in I think I find it more confirmed that it was the weakest live show. By contrast, my favorite live show was Manos, and thought they did a fine job with Santa Claus, so I'm not against them reusing a movie from the show. It just felt that they had already mined this particular one for just about everything the first time around, and probably the most I got out of the experience was actually watching Time Chasers in a theater, which is something I never thought I'd ever do (and it was fun to do so, in widescreen no less). Though it should also be noted that the sync was off in the movie at the show I attended, so it was annoying me. Don't know if it was that way for anyone else. Felt like I was watching a dubbed movie from Vermont.

I really enjoyed it as did most of the audience in my 1/4 full theater. Lots of laughter throughout. My son said it was one of his favorites.

I attended the encore performance last night as my preferred theater did not show the original live performance, thankfully they will be showing the reunion show live.
It was a good show! Not the greatest, but far more engaging than Manos or the bizarre Santa movies thanks to a plot that is pretty easy to follow. I did note the lip synch issues with the movie, and how the riffers themselves were not out of synch. So I assume it was an issue with the movie itself? Ah well, didn't really detract from a fun night.

I missed the rifftrax of TC but I hope there was a riff about the blonde looking like Gina Shock from the Go-Go's. I can't unsee it now.
