I'm a big fan of The Roku box or stick for streaming. Got pretty excited when I found the Shout channel and realized I could watch a ton of MST on it. I mean, I've got every ep on dvd, but it's just easier to open the app and pick an episode.

If you have wifi, and your television and/or blu-ray player is "smart" (aka has apps on it, like a smart phone) then you can hook up a Netflix account to be viewed through your TV. Most TVs and blu-ray players made in the last five years are capable of it. It's possible you have older models or just a DVD player, in that case then watching through your computer is likely your best option.
Netflix is easy enough to get and use, as long as you have the proper equipment to support it. And if you can't afford the monthly subscription, you can always cancel at any time if it's not for you. Plus they offer a free first month trial, so there's little to lose in giving it a shot when MST hits.

I'm glad to see the show land on a prominent, modern carrier, but I've only used Netflix for streaming back when that was part of the physical media package. I still get discs from them but never sprung for the streaming service (my TV, Blu-Ray player doesn't support it, anyway).
I'm a bit torn on this. I already have to shell out an extra $20 a month to get AMC though SlingTV (which my cable TV provider dropped due to fee disputes). I know it's not much of a stretch to bump up to streaming on Netflix, but it tends to add up.
I guess I'll have to see. May end up just waiting for the physical media versions to come out.

I think Netflix was the perfect choice. It's the most popular legal streaming service worldwide, and will guarantee the most viewers. I've been a subscriber since it started, and though the Canadian service has less the the US, it still has enough titles to justify the $8/month.
Also, higher ratings mean a better chance of securing more seasons.

Over 10 thousand people "liked" the AV Club article that the official Netflix Facebook page shared.
The last post of theirs that got more was back in June when they did a post about OITNB starting in 3 hours.
I'd say Netflix is the right place for MST3K to be.

I recommend Roku. Connect it to your TV and you just add "channels" to it like Netflix, ShoutFactory, Amazon, PBS, PlutoTV, etc etc. I second the Roku. Easy to use and an eclectic array of channels to choose from. Plus Netflix.

We stream netflix and amazon with our prime account. Tried hulu and just could not stand the commercials. Have not tried the non commercial version yet. Netflix is very easy to navigate and watch. I am glad that it will be on netflix, and not some small site that might not last, or have terrible streaming issues (like yahoo TV).

Since this has turned in to a Netflix discussion I will throw in. We watch netflix on our main tv through the Wii U, which works pretty well since you have the silly gamepad to use as a remote. I think every tv in our house can get it though. Our kids watch it upstairs on a Vizio we bought at Walmart a few years ago for like under $400 for a 40-some inch size.
I like Netflix a lot. No commercial, easy to find shows. They have many shows we watch. Still though, their selection could be a little bigger. If they really are the 'biggest' streaming provider, the others must be pretty crappy.

Couldn't be more excited about the good news. Between this and the news of SHIN GODZILLA getting U.S. distribution, I swear I've died and gone to geek heaven. It's really nice to know this is going to be on larger platform than Other Space. I'd particularly like to see a SEASON 12!!

The new episodes would have to be outright awful for the party to end next spring. I'm more curious about what this means for Turkey Day. A Netflix/Shout co-production?

If you have Netflix and search "mst3k", apparently you can add the new season to your list right now!

It's probably in reference to the prior hosts. You can bet the library of episodes Shout! has the rights to for the first ten seasons will show up at some point, and man is it going to be nice to have them all in one place.

The random guy that wrote it probably just liked the wording better.

Very curious as to the formatting of the show. Being on Netflix, they could technically run slightly longer than the old school 97 minutes (+/-) that they were limited too on "network" TV, like say, an even 2 hours. This would allow maybe for less editing of the movie they are riffing on if they so choose. I understand not all editing of the movie was time constraint driven but I do wonder if maybe now they are a bit more free to choose what gets edited.
Does anyone think they will run longer or has it been said anywhere that they will stick with what was done before?
