I have not heard of any of those movies, except one that was parodied on another show. Which means they are probably great choices!

Fair warning to anyone who goes to the thread linked above, it reveals another spoiler besides the film titles. {Spoilery Spoilers} It reveals the real name of Patton Oswalt's character, and boy was I surprised. Anyways, thank you for the link majorjoe. Hoping the film titles are legit, there's a few there I'm excited for.

Oops, my bad. I meant Rock Hudson, not Gregory Peck. In my defense, I had just bought To Kill a Mockningbird on blu-ray so I had Peck on my brain. But still...

And while I'm at it, if we're going to link directly to it on another board, let's stop pussyfooting around and actually post the list. If anybody wants the list of movies, click the spoiler. Reptilicus Cry Wilderness Time Travelers Avalanche The Beast of Hollow Mountain Starcrash The Land That Time Forgot Hercules Yongary Wizards 1 Wizards 2 Carnival Magic The Christmas That Almost Wasn’t At the Earth’s Core

Many of these are a whole lot of fun un-rifled. Yay! My favorite kind! I'm in the camp that has never like the horrible movies--not watching them, and not the riffing when it starts to dip heavily into just mock how technically bad the movie is riffs I also hope I haven't seen any of them before, because I like watching/discovering new old cheesy movies along with my riffing friends. Having said that though, I recognize at least a few of those movies just from their vague descriptions from the comments here.

^ I'm a proud owner of Reptilicus on Blu-Ray, and I'm this close to getting those Doug McClure dinosaur flicks, too. It's telling that many of these movies have Blu-Ray releases, because Joel said the movies looking good was a new qualifier for today's HD environment. Many of these movies are from MGM, which opens up a whole lot of awesome AIP B-Movies for future riffing. We need some Vincent Price episodes of MST3K!
Yongary's really interesting because it's as close to a Japanese kaiju movie as you can get while not being one: it's a Korean film, the nation's soul attempt to get a piece of the kaiju pie in the '60s. I believe some Japanese folks who worked on the Gamera movies actually helped them and built the Yongary suit.

Was reading over on that Rifftrax board and saw some pretty exciting speculation that "Wizards" is referring to Wizards of the Lost Kingdom 1 and 2...a Deathstalker spinoff, the first of which I have vague memories of checking out of the library and screening when I was about eight years old. Man--I really hope this list is legit, but if it's not (and I'm still skeptical) I'm sure they'll have some good films lined up.

Sounds like a great lineup, if the list is legit. But does anyone know if... the "Hercules" movie is something other than the Steve Reeves one they did on the original show? Could this be the Lou Ferrigno version from the 80's?

There were a lot of films starring that character. I'd guess it's the one you mentioned or another one. I doubt they would redo a film they've already done.

Could this be the Lou Ferrigno version from the 80's? I have a VERY strong feeling it is indeed the 80's Lou Ferrigno HERCULES. Several of the films on the list are from MGM, so I'd be surprised if it was any other version.
Plus... holy sh*t that would be one perfect movie for MST to riff on!
