New update out. No shows until first half of 2017, so knowing Joel that means July of 2017. He also talks about the Turkey day marathon. And then throws this out at the very end: Yeah, yeah, there's only one guess here right? It's an early KTMA ep. But you know--the little fan boys that cry wolf--I'll believe it when I see it.

And of course this had to land on the week my laptop charger went on the fritz and I have to conserve my energy.
I haven't been paying much attention to the bonus episodes, does the streaming service have a way to download the episodes directly to a computer or a USB drive? If this is indeed KTMA, I want a physical copy that will never leave my sight.

T'would be very very good to have an official KTMA episode available, and also to pave the way for DVD releases of the whole season (except for the Gamera eps right now I suppose). With the slow dwindling of 1-10 episodes yet to be released, surely they would want to get putting out more product? Can't see why not, it would sell, especially if they were limited editions.
I just bought a 36 cd set of Bob Dylan's entire 1966 tour. No one would have ever guessed such a thing would be released just 5 years ago, but guess what, the market is there for those who want such things.

The bonus episodes are all DRM free and can be downloaded and burned to disc.

Given that Shout Factory has the rights to Invaders from the Deep (in the form of Stingray, the TV series from which it was edited together), I'd wager that's going to be the special bonus. Plus, this year, Thanksgiving is on the 24th, just like it was when K01 and K02 first aired

If it's really K01, that's incredible. The date thing is cool, too, even if Joel said he's releasing the episode on Friday, Nov. 25. Now my hopes have been raised, dammit

And they still have Star Force under license. It could feasibly be any of them or all of them.

Can anyone find that quote? I searched the Kickstarter, but couldn't find it. Edit: from update #8: "Hardcore MSTies, I'll just give you a little hint: if you help us make the newest episodes of MST3K, you might just get to see the oldest episodes of MST3K."

Hardcore MSTies, I'll just give you a little hint: if you help us make the newest episodes of MST3K, you might just get to see the oldest episodes of MST3K." The challenge was to reach $3.3 million by the end of the Turkey Day '15 marathon. I'm pretty sure that's the only reference to the KTMAs during the fundraiser.

He did respond to a comment where he neither confirmed nor denied that he was talking about the KTMAs, but he said IF he was they had to make sure they had the masters because they had trouble locating them.

And someone who went to the set visit in September said Joel told him that it's in Shout's hands to work out the details of KTMA episodes getting a release.

Slightly off topic, but I'd pay to watch Joel, Trace, Josh, and the rest of the original crew riff their own performances in the KTMA episodes, especially the early ones. We got a peek of what that would be like when Joel screened K00 at Dragon*Con, and a full episode would be pretty great.

I'm looking forward to whatever the Friday surprise will be. Like most of you, I'm hoping that it will be the lost 3 KTMA episodes because if so, the fandom will finally have every single MST3K episode produced in some form or another. And if it is the KTMA episodes, maybe this could lead to some of the others being released as well, we can finally have them in watchable condition compared to the 4th or 5th generation copies we currently have.
There is one question I have to ask. Was it Joel who came up with the possible idea of releasing the KTMA episodes, or were there people commenting on the kickstarter asking for them? And if it was fans asking, who were the first people asking? I'm wondering because in all of the excitement about new MST3K the kickstarter was generating at the time, we should be thankful to those who spoke up about possibly getting the oldest stuff released if it does turn out that Friday's surprise is KTMA goodness.
