The Play MSTie disc is even more pointless if they port over the extras on some of the later Rhino boxset reissues, since they contained those Jukebox extras. If they were going to reissue one of the Best Brains compilation tapes, it ought to have been Tom Servo's All Time Favorite Host Segments, since at least that one had a original introduction like Shorts Vol 1 did.
But I would have preferred something like The Home Game.

Well the play MST for me tapes and DVD did have those introductions from Trace so there is some content worth enjoying.

While it's a bummer they're having to push back the KTMA disc, I'm kind of relieved as I really didn't want to have to pre-order another set with the way my finances are right now being in school.
Hopefully Shout can find decent masters for the rest of the KTMA episodes..

This is kind of a late mention since the sale ends today, but Shout is having a sale similar to the one ProjectedPaul posted about in a previous thread about the last set that offers Free Shipping plus 10% on orders over $50 ( www.shoutfactory.com/editorials-sales/editorials/it-s-a-wonderful-sale ) and the MST3K Vol XXXVIII pre-order is valid with this. The price comes to $49.97, which puts it much closer to Amazon's usual price for new sets (plus you'll get it 4 weeks early with the bonus disc). |

Kinda hoped for an interview with The Band That Played California Lady. The Fish-Lipped Guy, The Eskimo, and The Friendly-Looking Backup Singer probably have some great stories.

Mike, By Joel could potentially be a GREAT features depending on how far they're willing to go.
It's probably just Joel talking about Mike but if they want something amazing I wish it could be something like the Captain's Summit on the Star Trek movie blu-rays that unites Shatner, Nimoy, Stewart, and Frakes to talk about the show in a roundtable discussion.

Pretty good extras. I'm always interested to see a MST movie unriffed, and the Moon Beast extra sounds interesting. Shout continues, IMO to do well with their extras.
