No practical purpose. I already own too much junk. I'll probably get a pack or two.

The creator mentioned on the company's Facebook page that he met Joel at a convention earlier this year and that's where they started to discuss acquiring the rights for the cards. I hope the new season will push more venues to go for the license too, I'm itchy for more MST collectibles. Looks like they're using the same branding images that the Zazzle MST store is using. I also suggested MST3K trading cards back when the Kickstarter was taking suggestions for merchandise we'd like to see Though this company appears to be pretty small. It looks like the easiest way to get them is to actually buy a full box- but at least you'd get a full deck, special rarities, and the display box with it. Takes the fun out of the actual trading aspect tho, but who does that anymore?

Dude, anyone want to swap a Sci-Fi Cambot hologram card for a Joel KTMA blue jumpsuit variant?

I'm a bit surprised to see such an unknown trading card company with such a low-tech website getting the MST3K license. Then again, I actually like that they gave a smaller company a shot with the brand and that the company has also made Three Stooges cards.
From the look of things, we will get movie cards, Shout DVD poster cards, publicity photo cards and 3D cards. It would be really cool to get autographed cards. I'll gladly buy a box of these when they come out, and will happily trade a Torgo foil variant for a Trumpy wacky wiggler.

According to Midtown Comics, RRParks cards are distributed by American Mythology, a comic book company. So these cards could wind up in comic book shops that are supplied by Diamond. Midtown has a couple of their Three Stooges sets for pre-order already.
Which brings me to wonder.... American Mythology also does Three Stooges comics. Maybe they could do some MST comics in the future?

I love the idea of MST3K trading cards. Did most of my collecting in the sports card genre in high school, but I remember Marvel Comics cards from back in the day, too. Looking forward to see what this has in store.

Maybe they could do some MST comics in the future? Oh nice! I've just recently gotten into their Three Stooges comics and they're really well done. A nice variety of artists, very accurate to the old Columbia shorts, and as a bonus they reprint classic Stooge comics. The Halloween special Frankenstooge was a lot of fun. I'd love to see a MST3K comic book. Actually, as a kid I made two issues of a MST3K comic that I really should scan and upload to the forums at some point.

Wasn't there going to be an MST3K comic book many many moons ago, (where they would riff over old comic book pages) or did I hallucinate that?

Wasn't there going to be an MST3K comic book many many moons ago, (where they would riff over old comic book pages) or did I hallucinate that? Yep. Valiant Comics, or Acclaim Comics at the time (they got bought out by the video game company), had the rights, even solicited it. Sadly, I never kept the ad for it featured in the back of an issue of Diamond Previews, which looked like it was going to feature Mike & The Bots riffing on old Gold Key comics. But, I did dig this up some time ago, the solicitation for the first issue: Sci-Fi Channel Presents: Mystery Science Comics 3000 #1 The long -awaited comic book experience is finally here! With the first of these quarterly 96-page trade paperbacks, Acclaim teams up with the Sci-Fi Channel and Best Brains Productions to subject Mike, Crow, and Tom Servo to some of the worst comic books ever made. Predictably, Mike and the 'bots' response is to mercilessly "riff" on the material - with side-splitting results! The writers of Mystery Science Theater 3000 are directly participating in the creation of these books to ensure these comics have the irreverent and hilarious feel of the award-winning TV show from witch they spring! FC, 96 pages July 1998
