Okay, the time is here. How do I download these new episodes to play on my big TV?

Easiest way is Netflix on some sort of TV device like an XBox or Roku (I use my Nintendo Wii U), or even directly on your TV if it is newer and has apps on it including Netflix.
If you are an 085 backer, you can download MP4s of the eps from VHX. Then you can watch the MP4 on your TV in a multitude of ways, anywhere from putting it on a USB stick and plugging it into your TV, or using a device like an XBox as written above, or you can burn the MP4 to a DVD with various free software (and a DVD burner of course). (I personally have had a PC hooked up to my main TV for years (originally, incidentally, to watch downloads of MST3K, ha!), and I can just watch the MP4s directly through VLC or other media player.)

I've been told I need something called a 'USB drive' that I plug into my computer and can also plug into my PS4. Where I need help, once I get the drive, will be with the download process itself and playback with the PS4.
I'd really rather not have to take on the new expense of signing up for Netflix, which has a base price of 9.99 a month (plus who knows what added fees).

Netflix's first month is a free trial. If you don't want them to charge you, watch all the episodes before your trial is up and cancel your subscription. It's very easy to do and it's far cheaper than using a USB drive.
And there are no added fees to Netflix unless you add them yourself. I've had Netflix for years and I'm always charged just $9.99.
Just cutting and pasting my past explanations from before.

I have the USB drive and the computer is asking about formatting the 'disk'? It wants to know 'Capacity', 'File System', and 'Allocation unit size'?

I wouldn't have any idea what you're doing unless I had my computer in front of me, and even then I don't believe I ever received that message on any USB I ever used.
The problem is I'm not a computer expert and I can't see what you're doing. All I have are those instructions up there as to how a file can be uploaded.

Loved it, but why is the sound and video so badly out of sync?

My guess is your tv isn't compatible with the file format of the video file. I have a Sony tv that is very picky about video files played from a USB drive. You might try your manual and see what file types are supported. The default from VHX is MP4

I'm playing the shows through a PS4. I'm pretty sure they support MP4s.

Huh. Did you try playing it on your computer? I'm not familiar enough with the PS4 to troubleshoot it, so my suggestion is to contact Sony or ask on a Playstation forum if the files themselves playback fine on your computer.

My first guess would be a faulty download.
Try it on your computer and if you have a sync issue, delete the file and redownload. However if it plays fine, check again on your PS4 and see if it plays okay this time because there might just have been a playback error.

Apparently this has been a recent problem with Media Player. Will have to wait for an update.
This site is so slow!

Downloads completed! Now I need to find a way to watch them until the PS4 Media Player is corrected. Any ideas?
