If we're starting a Gypsy pile-on, I agree that the character felt lost. I also think it's a fine idea to cast a woman in the part, but she should have tried to voice it as a character in some way. I dunno, probably was the writing too. Like they didn't want her to be a clod or a ditz anymore, but then had no idea what else to do.
I also think that pretty much all of her in-theater riffs fell flat, mainly because you were too busy wondering were the riff came from. If there was any action in the film you may not have even noticed her drop in, and then you're wondering about where the riff came from, realized its from Gypsy, and then before you really had time to process the riff itself, the fast-paced season 11 riffing was already off to more riffs.

Don't mind either element, personally. Gypsy's voice is fine for me, and having her say something when she does her work in the theater makes sense. I can get how she might be a little weird to some viewers though.
And the Skeleton Crew is something I actually think is kinda brilliant, actually. Like, first of all, they're a kind of "henchman army" stand in, something that Kinga definitely benefits from. And also, they fit Kinga's get-rich-quick plan of making a successful TV show. So, she's used her henchpeople to create a kind of variety show big band thing. I don't know if this is a case of Kinga needing a band and hiring/acquiring a bunch of skeletons, or if she happened to have an army of alien skeletons available and decided to put them to work as a variety show band, but either way it worked really well for her.

Having Gypsy less stupid wasn’t a problem imo, she got more intelligent as the show progressed...so her being smarter would fit perfectly fine with her character evolution. It’s all just that the character just felt lost, I wouldn’t have minded them maybe even bringing up something about her Richard Basehart obsession....something that helps to feel like the old Gypsy is still there in some capacity!

I don't really see Gypsy as "lost," personally. I think she's fine.
But if we're going to talk about Rebecca Hansen characters that felt lost, then we have to address Synthia. I'm not even sure what they were trying to do with her, and her personality felt different from one moment to the next. At least Gypsy was consistent.

Like I’m sure I’ll get used to Gypsy as she is now, but I’d be lying if I’d say I was sold on her changes......except the fact she always comes down from the roof, I think given her design that was a good change!
