I was disappointed that the riffing for this one seems to have been pre-recorded, though the host segs were live. Seriously? I know we all love these guys, but if that's true that kind of sounds like a false advertising and asking for you money back level of disappointment. A heckler interrupted them in DC and they responded. The riffs aren't prerecorded.

I said it seems that was the case, but I could be wrong. In any case, the host segments were live. And, above all, it was very, very funny. I'm more than satisfied that I got my money's worth.

I went to the show in St. Louis. I will start off by saying that yes I enjoyed the show and yes I feel like I did get my money's worth. (Now for the but...) But I also agree that I was not sure if the riffing was live or not. It was funny, but I was never quite sure if I was just watching a big screen version of the show...which did keep distracting me because I kept trying to figure out if it really was "live or Memorex".
I do have a criticism that will probably garner me some flaming though...I thought that the majority of the merch was overpriced. Heading to the show I was trying to guess how much one of the snakes might be...I guessed about $60-$80. I was floored to see the small ones at $100 and the big ones were $250. They were autographed but I still think that was overpriced. I liked the wood cut-out, it is similar to some of the ones that were seen the show, but at $200 I had to pass. (It was gone by the end of the show, so I guess someone else disagreed.) I think the worst example of greed was a sticker that I would expect to be given away at somewhere like The Warped Tour was $5.00!
I love Joel and always feel like he is looking out for us fans, that's why I came away so disappointed. (It makes me long for the Cinematic Titanic tours when the merch was reasonable and the cast was more than happy to meet everyone after the show in the lobby...truly good times.)
And now feel free to flame away!

I was going by how they continued riffing even while the audience was laughing and couldn't hear them. I stand corrected; thanks for the info.

I was at the later show in Detroit/ royal oak, it seemed that when there was a massive laugh they waited a bit but not for medium or smaller amounts of laughter . I was not close to the stage but I guess I have good eyes I could distinguish between black projected on the screen (I believe the seats empty we're projected) versus there actors shilouettes which were a bit darker. The way seating works at the venue put me at eye level for the top of the control panel/table on the sol. Also I could see the tops of actors heads (shilouettes) distort as they walked around each other to get seated 'in the theater'
I too thought merch was a bit pricey, I mean stuff was nice, full color shirts... But $30, little buttons we're $5, but like the tour poster, which was a large quality print was only $10. Being about midnight I didn't wait around to see if there was a meet and greet
Just as a curious question what was security like at other venues? My venue (which I have visited prior for CT and other concerts) had metal detectors and similar security to an airport. Empty all pockets and put bags in bins. My caribener was confiscated. Previously my caribener had made it unscathed into this venue thrice and never had metal detectors during CT's last 2014 tour

I wasn't expecting that, otherwise I would've cut down on the number of things I carry around in my pockets. At least I didn't have to take off my shoes.

I've just heard from a colleague of mine who went to a show that Joel said he thinks one of the live shows could be coming to Netflix. That would be awesome if true, and it would help make up for the SLC cancelation which I'm still bummed about.

Sounds like security was about the same, I still found it odd for the venue I was at. Also Glad shoes were still on

I really hope we get a recorded live show as a Turkey Day special.

I was disappointed that the riffing for this one seems to have been pre-recorded, though the host segs were live. Seriously? I know we all love these guys, but if that's true that kind of sounds like a false advertising and asking for you money back level of disappointment. I'm pretty certain it's all live. They threw out some Chicago riffs at the Chicago show and Jonah broke for a moment laughing at a joke. BANG! Just got back from the Chicago showing of Eegah, overall the live experience was very good! They did a fantastic job translating the TV show format into the live experience, with very few omissions. Seeing the bots live is surreal, and this is coming from somebody who has seen a fair share of fan made bots at various Rifftrax events. I liked seeing Synthia acting normal and the taller Bonehead talking, and their reasoning for dropping their on camera personas. The video effects weren't flawless, but it was very cool to see them switch between the pre-recoded Moon 13 bits and the live show. I'll admit, in the first half of Eegah I missed a LOT of the jokes simply because the audience was laughing so much. The second half seemed funnier, but maybe that was because the audience calmed down a bit and I could hear more of the riffs. Joel was very funny, mainly because I felt he was VERY preoccupied with keeping an eye on all the rogue snakes. I saw him off to the left of the stage going into the audience to collect snakes. The sketches was fun, Gypsy's cameo was cool and I liked how they addressed the payload finally. I have to say... I like Tim Ryder more than Baron as Tom Servo! I know, it sounds mean, and I love Baron's Tom but Tim's take felt very Kevin-like and during the riffs I felt his singing voice was stronger and I could tell his voice apart from the others easier. I hope Baron returns should we get a season 12, but if not... Tim would be more than welcome. We arrived an hour early and got in line, and once inside my wife grabbed seats while I got in line for merch. I'm glad I did, as there was a script book of the show for sale that appears to be in very limited supply. The one I bought was said to be the last one for that showing, as they were holding off on ones for the next show. Given it was only 20 minutes after the doors opened, these sold out fast! I'm happy to have it, as I can go back and see what riffs I missed. I also got a poster.

(As for if the riffs were live or not, I trust everyone's opinion that they were...I was just commenting that I was unsure during the show which kept me a little distracted. I personally would have rather seen them riffing off to the side so that it seemed even more special. Some of my better moments of seeing Cinematic Titanic live was seeing how much Joel and company seemed to be enjoying their "work".)

The security guys were very suspicious of my Tom Servo (they obviously didn't know what the hell it was), asking what parts of him were made of metal, scanning him, etc.. "What does the squeeze-bladder do?" :: Tom's arms slink down ::
