No, not THAT Chris Cornell. The real one.I enjoyed his songs for Casino Royale and The Avengers, but other than that I didn't know much about him. Such a young age though, tis a shame. So in his honor, here are the only two songs of his I ever listened to...

One of the best rock voices of the last 30 years. I still really like looking back on the early Soundgarden years, there's some smoking good stuff in there. His Audioslave and solo stuff (and later Soundgarden) were OK, but I really like Badmotorfinger and stuff prior. Here's and LA Times article with a little professional background about him. Some sources are reporting that they're investigating it as a possible suicide. www.latimes.com/local/obituaries/la-me-chris-cornell-20170518-story.htmlAnd some classic Soundgarden, this is from Louder Than Love, their last album before breaking it big with Badmotorfinger. Rest well, sir.

I don't know much Soundgarden, but this is definitely depressing. I like "Black Hole Sun," and am sure I would like more of their songs if I had the time to listen.

The family appears to be considering the fact that his medications may have contributed to a bad state of mind, leading him to commit suicide. It's very sad, either way. And I have to say, even though I'd heard the song a few times before, that "You Know My Name" is really a good song. MTV Classic had all Cornell/Soundgarden/AudioSlave/Temple of the Dog videos on last night, and they played that video as well. It sounds very Bond-like but still very Cornell. I definitely like it better than the Avengers tune, although that one could be worse, too.

Someone on another forum posted this fact: In over 50 years Cornell is the first person to sing a Bond theme to pass away.
That's...surprising.

Everyone else who ever sang a Bond theme is still alive? That really is surprising. I had heard he was the first American male to sing one of the themes, which was interesting to me, but I'm definitely no Bond expert.

another hit. i've loved chris cornell since early soundgarden and temple of the dog. my roommate and i mourned for days when he cut his hair but it's his voice i always loved most. he did this for those 'very special christmas' cds that used to come out every year back in the 90's. it blows me away every single time i hear it. very powerful. and his time in audioslave....ugh, what a terrible waste. even worse that it could have come about as a side effect from some medication.

That's...surprising. no it was Louis Armstrong (sang the theme to On Her Majesty's Secret Service) It wasn't used in the opening credits, which is mostly how Bond fans "count" Bond themes. But personally I'm not a big Bond fan, so I don't give two sh*ts either way.
