I refuse to believe it.
Now watching Zombie Nightmare even if it is a cheap ass direct to video horror movie, Batman, and Family Guy will never be the same.

recommend this movie it's a great love letter to the 60s live action show. There was a follow up planned with William Shatner playing Two Face. Wonder if that's still going to be a thing and if West finished work on that before his passing?

I've been trying to come up with words that can describe how I feel about this gutwrenching news, but I just can't do it. Adam West meant a lot to me. He may not have been the greatest Batman ever but in many ways he was the most important. We may not have the character today if it wasn't for his deadpan, comedic portrayal, and it was quite brilliant.
My only comfort in this news is knowing he lived a long and happy life. May you rest in peace, sir. We will miss you so very much, just like we do with Yvonne, Burgess, Cesar, Frank, Eartha, and all else we have lost from that series.
I very much look forward to Batman vs. Two-Face so I can hear your voice one last time.

Odd thing is, I only found out the other day that Adam West once played another, uncredited part of my childhood: he was the voice of Hercules on the 70s Saturday morning show, Shazam!
Defender of Gotham. Counsel to Captain Marvel. Mayor of Quahog. Not bad for one lifetime.
RIP, Mr. West.

Ignoring the question of best Batmen, I think it's fair to say that Adam West is the most iconic Batman of all time.
And the fact that he pulled off that feat as a Batman who can smile and laugh while also taking things seriously is a great reminder to us. Our default attitude might make us want to brood or sulk, but the ultimate brooder's most iconic portrayal also gave us warmth, joy, patience, kindness, and even gentleness when not dealing with hordes of Ka-POWable minions.
