Anybody else play enough Nintendo games to make their eyes bleed? I'm not judging, of course. I'm typing this on a New 3ds XL. In fact, watching Mst3k and playing retro video games is just about all I do...
My Favorite Nintendo IPs: Pokémon (hence the username), Mario, Mii Games/Tomodachi Collection, Earthbound +Mega Man & Kunio-kun, which aren't Nintendo's but make frequent appearances on Nintendo consoles.
Here's hoping I'm not the only fan here!!

You wrote this post on a Nintendo? Hmm ...
Nintendo games are good stress relief before and after work. I have a 2DS, Wii, a Wii U, and I've managed to nab a Switch. I wanted to get one of those Classics, but the wretched scalpers grabbed them all.
Mega Man has been a favorite franchise of mine, and I appreciated Mega Man 9 and Mega Man 10's return to the 8-bit style. What I particularly liked about Mega Man 10 was how challenging the Robot Masters were. After all these years, though, I suspect that there will never be a Mega Man 11.
I tend to pick up a game on a weekly basis. I enjoy Picross games. Lately, I have been playing a lot of Breath of the Wild on my Wii U.
I hope to see them make some cooperative games. I get annoyed at there being so many competitive games because I am so much better at them than my family and I feel it as being alienating.

I really like Nintendo. I mean, it's no Sega, but ever since Sony capitalized on the Dreamcast's (undeservedly) poor sales, there really isn't a lot of Sega to go around.
Pointless jabs from the 90s console wars aside...
Nintendo's always struck me as the most imaginative of the modern console companies. While not everything they've ever done has been a rollicking success, I admire their dedication to experimenting with new ways to play.
My favorite Nintendo and Nintendo-associated franchises are probably... hmm... Mario's a given, and there's a big part of my heart that'll always yearn for more Zelda. Super Smash Bros. may technically belong to Hal Laboratories, but I still put it in the Nintendo camp (and with that many other Nintendo-exclusive characters on it, that's a given.) Oh, and I adore Star Fox, and while it's not Nintendo anymore, Banjo-Kazooie was probably the one game I spent the most console-time playing out of all of the games (I even once wrote up a list of that game's Mumbo tokens that apparently expanded the "definitive" list of how many there were for one message board.)
I've always wanted to try my hand at Earthbound, but I've never been able to get my hands on it.
Oh! And while it's not really a Nintendo-exclusive thing, I just recently fell in love with the Shantae series. I played Half-Genie Hero and had to go back to get Risky's Revenge and Pirate's Curse. The original game has eluded me, however, because I've never been good at persuading myself to look into emulators (and as one YouTuber put it "If you play this, you're playing it on an emulator. The average price for the original cartridge on eBay is more than it would cost to buy a WiiU, and buy the game digitally through Nintendo's online services which runs via emulation, so if you play this: you're playing it on an emulator.")

I grew up more on Nintendo than Sega back in the console war era, so I was certainly partial to it then. I still own an NES, Gameboy, SNES and N64.
I liked the first three Mario games for the NES (and not to forget the highly-underrated Wrecking Crew), but I also like pretty much anything Konami did for the system, as well. The Mega Man series up to the third one were big hits for me.
I liked the SNES but just didn't play it that much. I remember really liking Super Metroid. Oh, and the Top Gear series was a big one for that system for me.
The N64 was similar to the SNES in that I just didn't play it that much. Anything associated with Mortal Kombat was quite fun. I really liked GoldenEye and Perfect Dark, but I think that's pretty typical. I actually just played both for the first time about six months ago.
I realize these aren't all specifically Nintendo IPs, but more a list of games I like for the system.

Weirdly enough, I prefer the Genesis to the SNES. I know I wasn't alive during that era, but my sister sure was, and her Sega Genesis still works. It's the first console I've ever played (Vectorman forever!).
I really recommend EarthBound if you have a Wii U or N3DS, but even there it's more expensive than the rest of the SNES games, sadly.
Also, yes! Someone finally respects the classic that is Wrecking Crew!! Definitely the best of the level-creator NES games (take that, Excite Bike).

I've always wanted to try my hand at Earthbound, but I've never been able to get my hands on it. Earthbound is available as download for the Wii U. I downloaded the game myself. I probably have only gotten 1% to 2% into the game, and I think I might have got bored or have just moved on to other games. I might revisit it soon. When I play RPGs, I tend to take it slow and grind out EXP. The game comes off as a parody of RPGs. It has a peculiar saving system. You have to go to the phone, call your dad, and your dad saves your progress.

The SNES classic was announced yesterday (includes good ol' EarthBound)!
Even though Nintendo promises more units than the NES classic, I doubt I'll get my hands on one. All I can do is search "SNES classic pre-orders Canada" on a daily basis.
Alrighty, then! Place your bets: how long until I lose my mind?!

The NES Classic was a cool enough item, and I'm sure the SNES Classic will be, as well. But even though I like having game consoles just for the sake of having them, I have no desire to own either one of the new systems. You can buy an actual complete NES with games for less than the classic version is going for now, and I'm guessing the same will be true for the SNES Classic. Even finding the games aren't an issue anymore. While a little pricey at over $100, Everdrive cartridges store NES roms on an SD card and play on original NES consoles like the original cartridges. There basically isn't an NES rom that hasn't been dumped and isn't available on the Internet (for free, no less). I like having the actual cartridges, myself, but it's hard to beat having the entire NES library at your disposal.

Or, if you're really wanting to go crazy, there's Analogue's NT Mini, which is a clone console for the NES and Famicom (the Japanese version of the NES) that costs $499, but with the jailbreak firmware (conceived by the designer of the system, Kevtris) you can play not only NES games, but Atari 2600, Atari 7800, Sega Master System, Game Gear, Game Boy, Game Boy Color, and Colecovision games, with the Intellivision and Famicom Disk System on the way and cartridge and controller adapters for all of those systems in the works. It uses a FPGA, so it's not emulation, and Kevtris is pretty much a genius with what he's being doing with FPGAs for the past decade or so. Oh, and the jailbreak firmware also allows you to play ROMs for all those systems from a SD card (and, unlike the Everdrive, there are no compatibility issues with some of the more sophisticated games).

I've heard of some very cool stuff being done with FPGAs. Would like to try that out some time. Still, nothing is going to replace having an actual machine, actual controller and actual cartridges for me. Just something about it

That's why the NT Mini has NES and Famicom cart slots, with the cart adapters planned. But if you're going to use an Everdrive, it's just as well to avail yourself of something with perfect compatibility like the NT Mini's SD card slot.

The New 2DS XL came out yesterday. Yes, the name is moronic, but it's a really well-designed console. I pre-ordered mine from my local EB Games (Canada, eh?), which was a smart move because they didn't get anything but pre-orders! Lucky me!
One crappy thing about Nintendo: there's never any supply to match the demand (my grasp of the obvious is astounding, right?). It's okay, I mean, at least it only took 2 years for me to get a Ness Amiibo.
Otherwise, I can't wait to get a Pokémon Ultra Moon receipt for my birthday!
Always. Pre. Order.

I recently acquired a Switch, and I may or may not have over 100 hours in to Zelda right now. And my personal life may or may not be suffering as a result. Seriously though it's a great game. I love Nintendo. I've owned every Nintendo console except for Super Nintendo--I owned a Genesis-- and the Wii U. Big Pokémon fan here as well as Zelda, Mario, and Smash Bros--Melee is still my favorite.
