So - even the smiley face emojis are from photobucket? I tried to insert one in one of my posts and the "update your account" message came up. Let's see if just doing a colon and parenthesis works.  Edit: Okay, that worked. But actually hitting the smiley face icon in the edit bar, or whatever you call it, brings up the update message. Weird. |

This whole thing doesn’t surprise me. Photobucket has just about been impossible to use without an ad-blocker for several years. They have annoying pop-ups, video ads and the occasional virus-bundled ad and they have the nerve to ask us to reward them for that with $400 a year.
I stopped using them a long time ago, I only reluctantly started using them again after majhost died in 2015. Even if they backtrack, I’m never using them again. Now I’ve moved to imgur. I’m not sure if they have any hosting plans, but I’d think about getting one just as thanks for not treating their users like Photobucket does.

I've been trying to download my albums and have only had minimal success. One album with about 150 photos downloaded fine in zipped form. My main album/library, where most of my photos are (over 900), doesn't seem to want to download. I get every kind of problem. Download never seems to complete, or the recaptcha can't communicate with its host, or something else.
At least I got my avatar pic to download. I uploaded it directly to the forum and noticed a considerable drop in image quality. The image is up, though.
With all the ads on that site I'm surprised my computer can even keep up. This is frustrating as hell.

Yeah the whole photobucket thing finally caught up to me. So like Mr. Atari said just open up an imgur account. All I've done however is uploaded my avatar from my hard drive and updated my signature picture on Imgur. Fortunately I haven't posted a lot of photos here. At least lately.
