Here’s what made me think it might be more a Netflix thing, I guess it depends on if they consider a “joke-a-minute” show. I’d argue it fits more that format than something like Love or Master of None. All three are shows I like, but those seem more character driven and MST3K is more situation driven (the film/being required to watch the film): some of your “Arrested Development” episodes were well over 30 minutes. The first “Love” (Judd Apatow’s new romantic comedy series) is close to 40 minutes. Do you feel like for comedy, there”s maybe a length which it”s not wise to go past? Or if the creator wants to do that, the creator wants to do that? Ted Sarandos: I haven”t had a belief that there”s some magic in the running time. Shorter is funnier, maybe. But I don”t think that was true in “Love.” I think that episode is fantastic. I think the “Arrested Development” episodes are fantastic. If you”re writing a joke a minute show, you probably don”t want to do that too long. But these shows are not that. I think they”re more thoughtful than that. He also talks some about why they won’t make exceptions to the binging model: www.google.com/amp/uproxx.com/sepinwall/ted-talk-state-of-the-netflix-union-discussion-with-chief-content-officer-ted-sarandos/amp/

I hope season 12 features 'Nukie'.
I watched that movie once... What happened afterwards I can't really remember...

I want another 'Cry Wilderness.' You know, a completely inexplicable movie no one's heard of.

I hope season 12 features 'Nukie'. I watched that movie once... What happened afterwards I can't really remember... In my case, it was crying, showers and crying. I still maintain that it was the most miserable thing I've sat through, and I once had a root canal without enough anesthesia.

If someone watching it live gets worn out and changes the channel, they miss the ending. With netflix they can easily just start back where they left off. You really don't really need to remember what happened in the plot to enjoy the show.

Red Letter Media can send them one of their copies. What? And deprive those hack frauds of holding the world's largest Nukie VHS collection?

One thing I'm looking forward to on the lore side of things: Joel had previously said that if they got a Season 12, that would be when they better explained how Crow and Servo got from being Mike's rice-eating roommates to being stuck by a Forrester in a satellite again. I can see that sort of explanation going by the wayside in the name of sketch-comedy antics, but I really want it since, to date, this Netflix Era is the only time period in MST3K that we can't easily draw a connecting line to from what came before. Even the KTMA to Comedy Channel season had a few explanatory notes, like Joel pointing out the reason for the mads being in Deep 13 instead of the Gizmonic Institute proper.

In my head, I just assumed that they were kidnapped by Kinga to facilitate the return of MST3K and invoke feelings of nostalgia to make it successful, so she can sell it to Disney.

Oh, and I'd like a 30th anniversary special, maybe separate from the season itself.

Joel seemed big on the color-films-only thing, which is too bad because there are plenty of b&w films that are 16:9 (or could be safely cropped to 16:9).
We'll probably see more titles from studios that Shout Factory already have licensed from, like MGM and Roger Corman. Which leaves a lot of options for Season 12.
There are some titles that I wish RiffTrax hadn't done, because crap like R.O.T.O.R. would be great to see.
I'd like to see the live tour duo get released in some form. It's a shame we won't see the remaining Cinematic Titanic scripts get used for anything (THE DOLL SQUAD/ASTRAL FACTOR), because those would be great episodes 'as is.'
I'm really gunning for THE GREEN SLIME and FROM HELL IT CAME, but I don't see that happening sadly.

The Green Slime would be pretty amazing, since it was never riffed in its full glory. But if Shout is looking into their own catalogue, Captain America would be epic since next year is Infinity War. MGM seemed to be a big backer of season eleven so it's a possibility.
And I'd personally love more Hercules, plz.

It's a silly thing for him to get stringent about. I understand the emphasis on color, widescreen films that they can find decent prints on, but to utterly rule out the occasional B&W potboiler on principle is just stubborn.

I don't remember where I read it, but somewhere it was mentioned that at least one B&W movie was being considered for the next season.
