I KNEW IT! YESSSSSSSSSSS!
November's going to be a good month for me. If all goes well I get to see MST live, then the new season hits, and I even have the comic to look forward to. So much MST so little time.

What an appropriate date for the new season to drop. Can't wait for November!

That first photo could be a spoiler as to one of the movies they do this season. One or both of the big screen 1960's Gerry Anderson Supermarionation Thunderbirds films? Not to be confused with the compilation tv movies they riffed at KTMA. I was really hoping they'd tweak the SOL set a little.

I was hoping they'd tweak the SOL set a bit too. I don't dislike the set for the revival, but it needs improvement.

I'm glad it's being released on Thanksgiving. I might actually have time to watch it before I go back to work on Monday.

I'd be interested in seeing them, though if I remember right Joel said he felt Supermarionation didn't give riffing much to work with. Though to be fair he said that was his feeling about it back around season three when he had the option of riffing Invaders of the Deep and Revenge of the Mysterons of Mars a second time. Still rooting for Captain America and Robocop 3, and if they're ballsy enough Texas Chainsaw Massacre 4.

Even though I'm a big Space:1999 fan, I'd love to see the other two compilation films made from the series riffed. Both were released theatrically in Europe, so an HD master might exist. (Cosmic Princess from the KTMA era was edited on SD video.) Speaking of Reb Brown, Yor: The Hunter From the Future would be perfect for them.

I would love some Supermarionation movies. I really like eps KTMA1 and KTMA2 even though there was like 9 riffs in the whole movie (full disclosure I like almost all of the (non-redone) KTMA eps cuz I really enjoy the moderate quality / made-for-tv / tv-b-star-starring movies along with the hang out riffing style) I agree, set upgrades would be nice. I honestly wonder if it isn't part to do with the lighting as well as the bland 3d printed stuff. Anyway, considering Joel is out 'telethoning' for a season that's already done, it makes you think set upgrades are pretty low on the list of things we'll see. I do hope they at least add some dynamics to the SOL camera work. And, a little dutch angle to the Mads would be cool.

Like, a simple zoom would do so much, its not even funny. As long as its not a static, locked shot. And it would be such a wasted opportunity if the SOL set remains underutilized.

In hindsight, the dutch angles for the Mads was one thing I really missed in the revival. Hoping they can bring that back.

I haven't viewed the thread because I want to avoid spoilers, but since the season 12 movies have leaked, what are the general impressions for the movie choices at least?

This might be a little spoiler-y, but there was an episode of the Revival League Podcast that featured the puppeteering team in which they talked about Cambot being more mobile this season. They also built a Cambot prop that will be onscreen this season that will be used during a few scenes. As for the movie announcements, I think it looks to be a strong season. I don't see how The Asylum is that different than the Roger Corman assembly line, so I don't mind the inclusion of Atlantic Rim.
