"Get out of here with that face!" "Look at you with the right number of ears!"
I wonder what Erica is. I hope we never find out, the joke is much funnier if we never see her.

The wait is too long for season two so I'm watching Lost in Space again. Goddamn I love this show.

I tried to watch F is for Family but couldn't get into it. I think BoJack spoiled me. I don't feel like giving it a chance by waiting around for it to get interesting; if it doesn't hook me from the one and a half episodes I watched, I'm just forgetting about it. I watched The Christmas Chronicles with Kurt Russell. Kind of cute, not bad for what it was - a cheesy Christmas movie . Most of it was okay, but those stinking elves ruined it. It really went pretty south when they showed up on the scene.

The miniseries I've enjoyed: Godless (a western) and Maniac with Emma Stone and Jonah Hill in peak form (and I'm not really a Hill fan, but he's marvelous in this one)
I caught the Coen Brothers western, "The Ballad of Buster Scruggs" - the look of the piece is amazing, my interest in each story varied. My faves - The first is hilarious, the 5th with Zoe Kazan is both lovely and sad.
And I liked the two Orson Welles films, "The Other Side of the Wind", and the doc about the trials and tribulations behind the making of the movie... "They'll Love Me When I'm Dead"
Evil Genius sounds interesting, I'll have to watch that.

Netflix cancelled Daredevil. That's strike one. If they cancel MST, Lost in Space, or Disenchantment the service will be going bye-bye for me.
Luckily Disenchantment won't be going anywhere for about three years.

Luckily Disenchantment won't be going anywhere for about three years. All of the Marvel shows on Netflix are owned by Disney. Disney will either move all of the Netflix Marvel shows to the Disney channel or substantially raise their fees within a year or two. It doesn't make sense for Netflix to create more content that they might lose shortly.

Doesn't matter why they lost it, they still lost it and I don't care for a lot of their original content. Netflix has always been a bit of a "so what?" service for me, so if they lose a show I enjoy then they're inches away from me cancelling my subscription.

If the Marvel shows are practically the only shows you like on Netflix, your statement makes a lot of sense. I've seen some people who believe that Netflix is canceling all of the Marvel shows because they don't think that anyone out there likes them or because there's some sort of undefined plan to conquer the world by showing only bad movies.

Oh I'm definitely wise to the idea that Disney Plus being the reson Netflix is dumping their Marvel shows. At first I thought it was just Iron Fist because...well, who gives a damn about Iron Fist? But the Luke Cage was dropped and now Daredevil. If it smells like fish then it's probably a fish.
It's not even that I only like the Marvel shows. I more or less just liked Daredevil and Jessica Jones, while Luke Cage and Iron Fist were just something to watch. I just don't feel a lot of Netflix's TV shows play to television's strengths. They're so busy making multi-part singular storylines that they seem to forget to make individual episodes work on their own. That's why I love TV in the first place, why bingewatching is fun, and pretty much why whenever I watch something on Netflix it's usually just going back to reruns of Cheers and Fraiser.
It's one of the things I responded to with the new season of Lost in Space because the people who made that show genuinely seemed to understand that. There was a season long story, yes, but each episode was an individual, with a new conflict, and worked as a story in of itself. I can't say the same of, oh say, Stranger Things, which even at eight episodes was a huge chore for me, because every episode felt the same with little to no progression until the final episode.
Netflix's idea of television doesn't quite gel with me. The reason I had the service for so long was because I was living with people who used it far more than I did. I'm more than happy with canceling once a season of a show I like is over then starting it up months later while I stick with Hulu, which has TV shows that feel like actual TV shows. And I might just switch to CBS All Access, which is bringing back Twilight Zone, which has me more excited than just about anything on Netflix. And most of the catalogue shows Netflix has that I'm most likely to rematch are over there too.

Yeah I only get Netflix once a year, maybe twice if they offer a free month as they did this year. I'll watch seasons of iZombie or MST3K and any other well reviewed miniseries that pops up on my radar. I think their minis have been their most successful offerings (I did watch and enjoy Evil Genius).
The only Marvel show (or even most DC on TV for that matter) I found tolerable was Jessica Jones. The first season especially was intense.
Right now I'm just plowing through content. Most of it really weak. I got through half an ep of the Norm MacDonald show and had to turn it off. I usually like Norn, but that was a train wreck. (Maybe it improves, I dunno, but I don't have the desire to return to it). The Letterman talk show was better.
Movies? Didn't like Cam or that movie about National Lampoon (the doc was better) but did stumble on a little dark gem titled "Calibre"... that was worth my time.
Roma is due on the 14th, so I have that to look forward to at least. But yeah, I'll be cancelling the service by the end of my month.

I watched the 3rd season of Travelers. Not bad, not as good as the first two seasons. Didn't want to just write this in case anyone else is watching it and didn't get to the end yet. What the hell...? At the end there, when McLaren goes back even further to prevent 001 from going back in the first place - I don't know if this was the last season or not and they just did that "plan 2" showing up on the computer as a "The End...?" kind of thing, like the variables are never going to end, or if they are actually going to do a whole other season with a completely different set of circumstances, but - WHAT? Did they just forget that Marcy's host was originally a developmentally disabled person? If McLaren went back and changed the circumstances, how can Marcy just be a nurse now, just meeting and talking to David (who was originally her social worker) on the bus? Did I forget something?

I started watching Hilda back when it first went live on Netflix on September 21st, 2018. It's a really great show with a lot of beautiful animation, great music, and memorable characters. It is targeted more towards younger audiences, but I think anyone of any age can really enjoy it.

Well my month is done. I closed it out with the solid miniseries/documentary "Wild, Wild Country" and the Happening/The Quiet Place knock-off "Bird Box" which was good, but not great. It had its high points, but also got draggy and uninteresting in spots.
So that's it until next year (for izombie, any top rated movies/minis and another(?) season of MST)

I'm trying to watch Big Mouth, which is another cartoon. It has it's funny moments, but, when the ENTIRE show is just one long series of sex jokes, it can get quite tiresome and lose it's impact. The female hormone monster is really annoying as is that weird coach guy, or whatever he is, and the musical interludes are just cringe-worthy.
Don't know if I should continue or not, as I do think some of the kid characters are kind of cute.

If you get bored and want a new series, The Sinner isn't too bad. Not highly recommended, but worth watching. The series is based on the background of what led up to a lady committing a murder on the beach in front of witnesses in the first episode.
