Jessica Jones season 3, episode 1 These Marvel/Netflix shows were always flabby and bloated, repetitive and really in need of some tightening up. But with Jessica at least you had an magnetic central character to hold things together. However, if this ep is an indication of what to expect, even she wont be able to carry this lifeless, sad corpse of a season. Did they know the end was nigh when they started filming, because it's like they just didn't give a damn.
I'll usually give a season time to play out before I knock it, but this was a pretty sorrowful beginning to the ending.

Stranger Things Well, I'm not really gonna put actual spoilers, I just didn't want to disappoint anyone who hasn't watched it yet, but, 3rd season isn't that great, to me anyway. It had some moments. I liked the Steve, Robin, Dustin, Erica scenes the best. I was hoping Will had more to do like he could come up with better ways to fight the Mind Flayer, or had acquired some powers, maybe not on Eleven's scale, but it would've been cool if he developed some kind of otherworldly mind stuff because his connection with the Upside Down. And it would've been like a connection to his D&D role. About Erica though: No way a 10 year old would be that calm in those circumstances. And the whole Russian premise was kinda dumb. And the NeverEnding Story thing was cringey. All in all, it was okay, but I liked Seasons 1 & 2 better, this season had a different feel to it. Not horrible or anything, there were some funny moments, but the monster wasn't really cutting it for me this season. Edit: Anyone else think Maya Hawke (Robin) was giving off some Eliza Dushku kind of vibes? She kind of reminds me of her a little.

Just finished it up on Sunday. It was really good. Not as good as the first two seasons, but still arguably the most entertaining series on television right now. They pack a lot in, for sure. A few quick things: * Yup, some of the things in this series are a bit ridiculous. But then it is a show about a transdimensional threat, monsters and nostalgia.
* There are some great emotional moments. For me, it was the death of Alexi. Murray cynically tells him the fair games are all rigged, so when he plays one and wins, he has this moment of "maybe it's not all bad." He excitedly goes to find Murray and show him his stuffed bear and that he doesn't think the games are rigged. Then he gets shot. Oof.
* Speaking of emotional moments, Robin is awesome. The story she tells Steve about their time in high school is heavy, especially for the 80s. More of her, please. Had a great time watching this latest season. Wish it didn't take so long to make these things, but I'm patient. I'll be around for the next one.

I'm trying to decide if I want to watch Disenchantment. I didn't finish season 1. It felt like it was miring itself in the kind of things that really worked well for Futurama but weren't necessarily right for it? Like, trying to keep the same sitcom joke beats but while trying to tell a non-sitcom story. I don't even think it was bad, I just couldn't get into it.

It had it's moments. ^^^^^^ It also had it's draggy and stupid moments. (The episode with Ursula was just asinine).
I want a little robot Luci that walks around and talks. That would be so cool.
